Fair enough, I appreciate our cars are very different so it's to be expected. as I said everyone's driving that I saw was perfectly good, and your car certainly goes well! I was probably getting a bit impatient as were some others, that's the problem with having 30 minute sessions.

Glad you enjoyed the day, perfect day for it! smile
Go yes. Stopping no.

I think it's more at home being thrown down a drag strip. I'd love to spend some time trying to tame the beast, but not sure I can afford the brakes, tyres, fuel (1/3 of a tank in 30 mins!!).

I had the same problem with mine (I was in the red VXR in the 9:45 session).

Even with the AP's the brakes were a bit weak, and the tyres gave up after 15 minutes...

Still good fun though. It's nice to properly stretch it legs. Surprised I didn't trip the noise meter though.

Thanks to the PH team & Silverstone for another great SS. I think it had one of the most diverse gatherings of cars I've seen at a SS. Without doubt my favourite car & that the one that made me smile the most was this....

- I understand my dad had one when he was younger & one of the other guys in our group said one of his parents had one too - the epitome of 'cool' without doubt & respect to Blipi for giving the little car an airing/exercise driving

Just watching back the footage from my 11:55 session now. Who was in the white MR2? You were dropping something allover the track, pretty sure it was only coolant... but thought I better let you know in case you haven't been told!
Thanks - that was me. It was coolant I can confirm. Was that close to the end of the session? I had engine warning lights come on about 3/4 mins before the end of the session so slowed through brooklands and luffield before pitting. I think it was just on the pressure release as it didn't lose any more on the 90 miles home.

Apologies for slowness, I rang what I could out of it and it is 27 years old.. Enjoyed muchly!

Yes! Was towards the end and noticed it coming out at a fairly alarming rate, hope all is well now! Doesn't matter that you were slow to me, got passed you a couple of times safely so as long as you had fun! Pretty sure I held a few people up along the way myself lol.

Bit surprised by all the car issues / failures, it was only a 30 minute session!

Sorry mate but you spoilt a few laps for us and many others. At one point your were holding up at least 8 cars behind you. I appreciate your points above but you should have moved right and let everyone pass as you were forcing difficult overtakes. You and your Mrs would also have enjoyed it more as you wouldn't have had a pack of cars behind you and could have driven around with less pressure.
I held many up on my session? 11:20? Not sure how as I was constantly in my mirrors and moving as soon as I could. Some of the moves I saw were unreal, i.e. overtaking at both the start and finish of the pit straight. At the end of the day we did our best to accommodate people, but it's a track day not a race. Nobody is "forced" into risky overtakes.

I saw an M3 overtake my Mrs at the beginning of the start/finish straight, where the car washes out a bit and you need to use all of the track. Very dangerous, and a silly decision by the driver. You can't just stop dead and let everybody through at once if a queue does form, you have to pick and choose places and the people coming through need to use a bit of sense.

The wife had it happen to her at the PH SS at Donington. Stuck behind a guy in a white E92 M3 who just refused to let her pass. So she sat behind him and left him room. Sometimes it happens.

Like I say, I am sorry if anyone was upset but it is what it is. Both we and the car will get better over time but I fear for some of the kamikaze pilots.

Sorry - thought you said you were in the blue impreza on the 10:10? Anyway, no point dwelling on it now. I was behind you when the m3 went outside the track limits (bad move - especially as in the previous session there was some debris there!). don't take it the wrong way though, if it was you then can I suggest that you pull right immediately after the corners to let the cars pass and then get back on the gas.

We still had a great time - I was in the silver civic FD2

Good work as ever PH cool

Huge thanks to PH and Silverstone for today. My first Sunday service and had an awesome time (black 370z parked next to the nismo 370z; jealous!). Some awesome cars and great to see some nice metal on track.

Got a free PH smiley too, pride of place in my window now and really made my day, it's the little things.

Thanks very much to PH for putting on a great morning. Very good way to spend a Sunday. Paddock was bustling and the track action was good fun to watch.

If I may say, I'm a bit disappointed at all the 'you held me up' comments on the previous pages and all the subsequent apologies. Anyone would think it was a BTCC race that mattered and wasn't a £40 half hour mixed talent taster session.

Mrs was driving in that one. Wasn't sure which you meant.

We've still only done a few sessions so we'll improve, but there were definitely too many pushing their luck.

Was nice to see such a variety of cars smile
Shame I didn't get track time (was too bothered about the sound limit - 106db at static)

Does anyone know the name of the company on the leaflet that was left on the windscreens as I never got one ?!

Agreed - it was like some never went to the driver briefings. I got overtaken a few times when I was positioned on line on the approach to a corner (i.e. already in the braking zone!)

Cheers all smile. Main reason for buying the car was down to the sound . Whilst other sports cars are getting quieter its great to see British manufacturers still making cars with a bit of a bark wink
Hearing you heel and toe today and the sound it was making has completely changed my perspective of the evora, never been a fan until today, top driving!

Yeah that went on a lot on your session. I was worried a couple of times that the more nimble cars were going to try it on the actual bends with me so that had me a bit on edge a couple of times!

Great day and thanks again to PH for organising this!
Had a good time on track in the 9.35 apart from completely cooking the brakes! And nearly shaking the car to death! ?? Sorry if i got in anyones way (silver 1series 123d coupe) tried my best to get out of the way of those in faster machinery!

Would have been better if my brakes didnt overheat and didnt have to keep taking slow part laps to cool them off. Seems i wasnt the only one though! Glad i cought up with the driver of the 120d hatch after the session , i was wondering how you were keeping pace, turns out my suspicions werr right about a remap! ???? also shout to one of the 197 blue clios, spent most of my session up behind you, cars were pretty evenly matched!

All in all grat day, good driving by all (imo in my session) and top cars for me in the day were the mint white Gt2 Club Sport (good to chat to you whoever you were) the Hakosuka GT-R and the 22B
I think that was me in the Clio. Do remember a 1 series behind me, and I have to say yours is pretty darn quick too. Good fun comparing on track and just goes to show how close modern hatches are. Hope to catch up at another event wink
