Paul Grand Prix
Discussion
Planning a visit to Pau next year to visit some friends and thinking of taking in the Pau Grand Prix weekend.
Not sure whether to go for the 3 day Grand Prix or the 2 day historic.
Has anyone been before and is it a good event, obviously it isn't going to be a Goodwood Revival but looks a decent race weekend.
Thanks in advance.

Been to the GP several times. The GP is superb for watching proper old style racing. Be it classic minis 1960s formala3, Bugattis vs ERAs, Ferraris v E types V Mustangs V Lotus 26Rs, or great saloon cars for the 60s and 70s. There are many great things about the Pau GP compared to say Goodwood or Silverstone Classic. You can get real close to the circuit at many vantage points to watch. I mean 3 metres from the cars close. You can get in the paddock and pits and talk to the drivers, there are some hot French women around, it costs peanuts compared to UK events, cheese, wine, a rack and pinion railway, cheap hotels, one in the infield, and a there's also a great place to stay a couple of hours away when you visit the Millau bridge!

Thanks bobt, that's what I was looking for, some positives on the event. Sounds like a good weekend of racing so will plan the trip for that weekend.
Wasn't planning on driving but may just make it a road trip when you mention the Millau bridge and I have found the great place to stay.
Looks good and a mark 1 golf
