Went today. Smaller than ever, not a lot to see unfortunately.
I have just seen the floor plan in autosport. I can remember when it had two legs of halls of equal size, then I spotted the the current layout includes the pistonheads show, the actual auto power show is 2 or 3 halls at most. I wonder how much longer they are going to bled this one dry for?PhillipM said:
Plenty of people around, but mainly students from what I saw, I agree with Leg, it was either the same old regulars or 96 stalls trying to sell massage pillows or chinese tat.
Really!! The only students we saw were the OUMF students, who are a great bunch of guys......And also the future of our excellent Motorsport industry in the UK. Without these "STUDENTS" we may not have a Motorsport industry in the UK in the future.I walked the show this afternoon and thought it was great, and saw one stand selling pillows....

Yes, and?Did I say something derogatory or do you just object to calling students, students?
The point is they're generally not there spending money, bar to the show itself.
There were at least 3 stands selling pillows and 3 places shining shoes, maybe you didn't look at the show all that well?
Attended today with my 11 and 12 year old boys.
The show has not shrunk in size.
The standard of the exhibitors, the expertise on hand, the displays, the products and the show cars were all comparable to previous years. The format and LAA exactly as we've come to expect.
If this event isn't for you, then fair enough. If you've previously enjoyed it though, you'll regret not going based on comments in this thread.
It's actually one of our favourite shows of the year and as usual, we thoroughly enjoyed our day out...

We went yesterday, first time for 6 years. It felt smaller to me too, bit less variety as well, comparing the pics yesterday to those in 2011. If you're actively racing it's probably worth it, but I thought it was pricey for what it was at £94 for two of us, general admission plus pit pass.
Had a canny day at the NEC yesterday for the annual trip to ASI. Compared to last few years it felt less busy and by the time i left at half 5 most of the stands were busy packing up and sum were already closed for the day. One thing that i did notice was there was a lot more empty floor space in places and the stands seamed to be spaced more apart.
Anyway here's my pics from the day and vid from the live action arena :
