I'm planning to go on a little road trip to the show in early April, the thing is that I'm not sure if the weather will be sports car friendly by then? Has anyone else visited and had any issues?

Also looking for secure parking in the area- any recommendations?

Always keep promising I will do this myself as well. I did look into it, plenty of nearby hotels, but it appears to be in a green type zone so you may need to buy a pass to officially enter it. If you get caught without there is a fine apparently. I reckoned a day to drive there, two days at the show and a day back.

Or easyjet and a taxi, is supposed to be the cheapest option.

Have visited Techno Classica in Essen several times, never had a problem with the weather.
Hotel prices near to the show are steep, I have managed to get a room in an Ibis styles in Bochum 15 miles from Essen.
As far as I can see it has secure parking.

Easyjet has stopped flying to Dusseldorf, but they do fly from Luton to Dortmund, which has good links to Essen.

I've been 3 times ,it's 250 miles from Calais, never bought the Umwelt thingy.

Huge show, well worth the visit.

I've always parked in a residential street just off the Autobahn and walked the 20 minutes to the Messe.

Have also driven it top down in April.

It's one of a few events I'd go to every year and not get bored of it.
