Another good SS - Thanks guys - didn't seem to be 250 cars there though - perhaps we should leave slips at the PH store so we can be checked off later ?

I got chatting to a few of the Prodrive staff including the Facilities Manager - I was surprised to learn that it isn't heated.

Very jealous about the workspace and how clean it all is.

The Prodrive guys were great, but I've done a lot of SS. There was sufficient parking, so why direct me (and several others!) to an area where there was no parking? 3 parking zones.... not difficult to alternate where you send traffic!
Hmm. Not sure I agree. Trying to fill up one car park at a time (while giving out leaflets/schedules for the day) is far more logical and organised than sending everyone on a free for all for every car park they see! Prodrive staff very kindly volunteered to give up their Sunday for us and weren't marshalling (nor would we expect them to), and with only 3 PH staff there we could not re-route traffic.

First and only complaint I've seen though, so not all bad for a FREE event rolleyes
Fair enough. You, like me, are entitled to your opinion.

I appreciate that people have given up their time and the fact it was FREE, but if you cannot marshall an event with 3 PH staff, then why not ask PHers to assist - as has been done in the past. This isn't a few blokes putting on a car meet, this is a business and perhaps I just expected a bit more.

No one checked to see if I was registered, nor was my name ticked off. So how many people are on the naughty list for not turning up?

Apologies that this is seen as a complaint, rather than something constructive to make things better.

The queue ....

Thank you Pistonheads & especially the small band of PH crew who turned up to run the first SS of the season. It was great to be out and about and starting a new season of PH events. Thank you too to everyone at Prodrive - it was good to see you settled into your new premises and particularly good to catch up with Jacky again (I swear that woman runs the whole show there really wink ).

We didn't see any real drama or problems when people were leaving. The guy in the Aston showboating on the way out was quite funny (he did overcook it a bit but I think his car escaped unharmed) and the others were also just harmless fun. At least this venue was on a trading estate so no problems so far as we could see.

There's always different things that attract our/your attention & I (for instance) liked the fact the guy in the 6 series pictured had his 2 kids in the childs seats in the back ... its good to start them young!

Thanks too to everyone who has gone to the the trouble of sharing photos - who doesn't look through to see if they made the cut?!

Thanks again guys. Now where shall I put all those stickers?

Thanks to all involved in organising today.

Great event. Seriously impressive facility.

The presentation was really good. Great to hear about some of the Prodrive projects.

Awesome bacon sandwich as well!

Good start to the year, thanks PH.

Slightly annoying seeing people say they're going to turn up even if they don't make the list. Lucky everyone doesn't take this approach.

Good photos in the links above, even though it looks like I hogged two spaces...even captured the remnants of the dead bird in my front grille

Looking forward to Silverstone already - another SS on my doorstep.

Best Sunday Service of 2017 smile lol

Joking aside it was a privilege to access such a well known company as Prodrive, their staff where really chatty & friendly, so kind of them to give up their Sunday for us. We could see the effort they had gone to as well, prepping the exhibits and providing some labelling.

Of course there was a queue for those who arrived before the advertised start time, as there wasn't any early access allowed. Once 9am came, we soon progressed in, and parked up with no issues.

People do need to drive respectively when leaving such venues, to ensure we're welcomed back.

Many thanks again to PH & Prodrive smile

Firstly a thank you to PH and Prodrive for coming in on a Sunday so that we could have a wonder around their facilities. Presentation was interesting and I loved the Mondeo BTCC car.

The complaints about the queues are a bit unfair, there are 250 cars arriving at the same place, of course there will be a queue. In some ways the queue adds to the atmosphere, it was quite a sight seeing so many different and exciting cars queued up for half a mile.

My only negative comment is to those who were revving in the queue whilst we were crawling past the back of a housing estate at 9am on a Sunday. Fair enough in the industrial estate, but at that hour outside people's bedrooms is asking for trouble and contributes to some of the negative vibes towards us as a car community.

Onwards to Silverstone SS!

Thanks PH and Prodrive for the SS. Whenever I have driven past there I thought it would make a good SS and they delivered! Their breadth of technology was pretty impressive too, so much more than rally car prep that I didn't know about.
