Really hoping Moris can sort something out because they were always much cheaper than the competition - plus I have been unfortunate enough to have to claim through them and they were excellent.
£87 for the SS last year, or £130 for a full day vs £270 for the next cheapest quote.
Depending on who your main insurer is it might be worth calling them. I’m with Lockton via Porsche Club GB and have just discovered policy includes trackday cover as part of the standard price – subject to you notifying them of the specifics of the day and them being appropriately satisfied that its well organised and run by a credible company. I’m just waiting on them to get back to me and confirm that but hopefully Silverstone Circuits Limited will be deemed ok!£87 for the SS last year, or £130 for a full day vs £270 for the next cheapest quote.

Unfortunately I'm with Admiral for my main policy as they're dirt cheap. I rang a fair few of the usual insurers to see about included track cover and I ended up having to do 6 TDs a year to break even on the premium cost, a number of them also refused to quote based on my age/car value/the fact it is my only car/I do more than 10,000 miles a year. I will give Lockton a go though, fingers crossed!Pulse said:
I'll be in my Audi S1. Nearer the time, I'll email you with my number, but on the day you'll be looking out for this...
Having to drop out & give this event a miss, appreciate the offer for the helmet but at least somebody else could take advantage. Was really looking forward to this SS

Yeah I was with Admiral last year - worth trying Lockton at renewal.James Drake said:
Just FYI the reason that we were able to extend the attendance list last time out was because the over flow paddock was (mostly) not in use. We've asked if we can use this area again (after all, why wouldn't we want as many people there as possible!)... but we're waiting to find out from Silverstone if it is free or not.

Cheers guys. If not, I'll head to the Essex meetup. Slightly smaller mindue...JD
Sorted mine thru' insuremytrackday this morning; £195.50 for £30k vehicle, £2400 excess, includes recovery from track to home/garage. Insurer is Hiscox (so big-ish name).
Most other quotes I had were £300+ and £3000+ excesses.
If you're one of those people prepared to wait for the last minute, I understand MORIS are traditionally cheaper, but.............

Hi all,
We've now can confirmation from Silverstone that we definitely won't be allowed to extend our numbers this time I'm afraid... and Moris are not able to provide the insurance for track taster sessions either for technical reasons.
None of which is the news that we hoped to be able to deliver, but none the less I'm sure the Sunday Service will be a great event and we look forward to seeing you at the weekend.
Oh, and the windscreen badges and joining instructions will be sent out on Friday as usual and if you cannot come but are on the list PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF FROM IT!!!!
Thanks

Hi James: Does that take in to account the approx. 150 cars that are on the list that will go in to the paddock?
Maybe Silverstone could provide you with the number of unique clients (i.e. no' of people not no' of track sessions) who have booked track time.
It might move the cut off 50-100 places?
P.S. This isn't me begging: I'm already in!
