I was driving the blue Clio 200 R.S. on the 11:20 session and again at 11:55. Good to speak to the chap driving the 535 estate and the Z4M driver. Had a lot of fun, and got a clip of the mx5 spinning in front of me. wink

Did u have a 2zz engine in yours? I was admiring your rear end wink There was no grip at all on the racing line as I nearly lost the car through copse on the first lap. I found a lot more grip on the outside line and was able to carry my speed through the corners. Lack of power made overtaking very difficult and my only way was round the outside of copse.
Haha! Yes it has a 2zz engine. Went well down the straights but had to brake so early and tiptoe round the fun bits!

Had a great day and track time in the 9:35 session. The little 100bhp compact was doing ok!

Currently exporting the GoPro footage and putting the front and rear views together.
Look forward to the footage #teamlowpower 😂

What a great morning, very enjoyable even in the rain! I was in the 9.35 session in the classic mini and the wet weather meant that I wasn't as much of a sitting duck as I would have been in the dry!
I think the driving standards were good and people were especially so given the conditions (there will always be a few exceptions).
It was good to talk to people in the pits and had a number of people ask about the car.
Unfortunately the Go pro didn't record so I don't have footage to stick up but I would like to see any photos if there are some as someone else has said, there seemed to be lots of people on the pit wall.
Thank you to the PH team.
I was in that session in the mk1 focus and have or did have some footage as I haven't looked through it yet but I had my dad in the car with me and I said that your mini was quick.

Watching the classic Mini on circuit amongst the more modern machinery is the sort of thing that makes the Silverstone SS worth attending. Cars of all shapes and sizes being driven, rather than just sitting in the carpark.

I am the nameless stranger you were chatting to (actually the name's Aaron smile). Did you remember to collect your free t-shirt for volunteering to marshal the parking?
I spoke to the sone of the official Silverstone staff, and they were told there would still be three PH volunteers on duty. Seems there was a communication failure somewhere.

Despite the weather I enjoyed the day.
Good to meet you Aaron!

I actually forgot about the t-shirt. I have two PH t-shirts already but it would be nice to make a trio!

Hope to see the Zenos at a future SS somewhere smile

I do remember seeing a mk1 focus gong well amongst all the spray! Thank you, it's not bad for a mini and I did keep up with a lot through the corners but it just hasn't got the straight line or top speed.
I look forward to seeing your video.

Thank you, I've never been on track with more modern stuff other than the new minis and it was interesting and fun. It gets used for a few trackdays/autosolo's etc each year as I'd much rather be using it. I hope to be back for the one later in the year.

Again want to say thank you to ph team.

Weather was a real challenge, dry weather track tyres and zero aids (even using open boot for extra downforce..... Ahem) 40mph through woodcote was an achievement! All good fun though keeping right out of the way was a full time job lol.
That was me who shut it for you in the pits on your "drive through"....

Had a GoPro running inside my car for almost all of the 10.45 session (ran out of memory with 5 minutes or so to go) which ive just dumped the whole lot on youtube: https://youtu.be/57qRWco-fzE

Pretty much everyone in the 10.45 session should be on there as I'm sure you all overtook me, apologies for the choice language at a couple of points, didnt realise I had such a potty mouth until hearing it back paperbag

Thanks but the car is a lot better than I am a driver but I enjoyed my first time out on track. I can imagine that the mini is good in the corners and it looked good in the paddock when I had a look around.
I will have a look through the footage and see if I still have it from the first session as I was using my dash cam and may have unfortunately started overwriting some of the track footage on the way home.

It was nice to chat to another MR2 Roadster owed at a Sunday Service, usually I'm the only one!

I was also struggling for traction in my standard car. I think letting a few psi out of the front tyres would have helped.
Lewis, that would probably have been a good plan. I've done a few autosolos in my MR2 Mk3, and changing tyre pressures by few psi made a night and day difference in the handling. Mid-high 20s cold tyre pressure in the MR2 on T1-Rs was way better than 'pumping them up for the track' to 30+.

Yesterday I ran 22 front 24 rear in my VX220 which was fine in the wet.

I think I've finally dried out now after all that rain yesterday morning, but that didn't put a dampener on things!
Still had a great morning and some great cars on show both on and off the track.
I have put a few photos up here: https://www.flickr.com/gp/131313168@N07/1i4J7o

Had a blast of a day! Took part in the 11:55 & 14:45 sessions.

Do apologise for being in the Novice group but I was gifted the session and was eager to try out the cars fresh setup.

Here's the footage from the E36 Compact in the 9:35 session: https://youtu.be/d07PwUMsR6c
A few errors in there. I'm going to cut down a highlights video tomorrow.
Had a big twitch @10:20 and @11:30 in the video as soon as there was no one around me.

That's me in the grey 996c4s that passed you at 17min - nice to see my lines from your camera for short while, thanks! It certainly was slippy out there, I did the 0935 session in torrential rain too but the 1045 wasn't much easier. Nice of your passenger to suggest following my line, it was certainly a day for 4WD. You seem to turn in slightly too early sometimes, I do that all the time too smile
