On a separate note, has anyone fallen foul of the noise limits before? Its 102db drive by and 105 static. I've just fitted pse boxes and headers to my 996. It's not rediculous but, seeing as I dont have all the gubbins in my car for the switches Ive just wired them permanently on bypass.
I seem to remember a fairly rude sounding M5 last october so hopefully OK
I did some track time at the PHSS in September. As far as I am aware, nobody was tested for noise static. I certainly wasn't. One supercharged civic was told AFTER the session ended that he was too loud on the drive by. I seem to remember a fairly rude sounding M5 last october so hopefully OK
There was also an Aston out that was biblically loud and he was alright. I think they are fairly easy going, unless urine is being extracted of course.

Can I ask for a little clarification (for others as "I'm alright Jack")
Is the 500 max relevant? Last year you extended it to take in to account the (up to) 210 (6 x 35) cars in the paddock and the "Loads of room" at Silverstone?
I have a space on the list and plan (subject to availability once the website is up) to do a bit of track. However some may be put off booking track time if they're outside the 500 as you have said they should put their name down as well as book track time.
Also may be worth putting in bold the request to book in to the Sunday Service if doing track time as some (OK 1) on the reserve list has said "Take your name off if doing tack time"
The opening instructions are clear in that you don't need to put your name down as one of the 500 spaces if you have booked track time. Please do take your name off the list:Is the 500 max relevant? Website still down ??
Last post does not make sense !!!
You must add yourself to the calendar even if you are on track:Last post does not make sense !!!
However, please make sure you remember to add yourself to the calendar if you're going out on track, as all attendees need to be registered.
On another note, annoying the website is still down....

I'd never been static noise tested at Silverstone. My understanding is that there are decibel monitors around the circuit that flag up any offenders to 'race control'. Booking website still down. It redirects now to a silverstone headed page that apologises for site maintenance.
Left voice mail yesterday not been called back.
PH do you know what is going on with the booking link?
I have signed up for the track time in years passed with no booking issues.
Seems odd this time

I've also got a helmet I likely won't be using on the day (don't plan to do the track day portion). It's a Medium or Large (I'll check).
Anyone know how much the track day insurance was last year? I may be tempted if it's decent enough.
Thank you for the offer gents, I will certainly take you up on it, shall I just come over on the day? What will you be driving?Anyone know how much the track day insurance was last year? I may be tempted if it's decent enough.

The other times I have done a trackday at silverstone was on a bike, I was tested and had to fit a baffle.
I was told the mic was by the start/finish line for the baby circuit. Might get away with a sneaky lift there.

Strange one isn't it. I'm sure when I tried to book last year it stated 102/105db static but if they don't test it then it's irrelevant.

At the last SS I was on the pit wall when a car was called in for noise. There were meters I think at Goodwood, the start finish and also portable ones in the pit lane. The tests where random rather than systematic. I think it's worth being wary if your noisy, find out where the meters are and lift. The other times I have done a trackday at silverstone was on a bike, I was tested and had to fit a baffle.

Is Silverstones website still playing up? I can't book tracktime this morning.
Yes, if you navigate via their main website instead of the PH link it explains they are still upgrading their booking system as of 7:30am yesterday. It directs users to social media for updates, the latest of which was 6 minutes ago saying they hope to be back up "later this morning".Pulse said:
I'll be in my Audi S1. Nearer the time, I'll email you with my number, but on the day you'll be looking out for this...
Ah superb, really appreciate it, my PM should be linked to email but any bother drop me a line on here. I shall buy you a sarnie as way of a thank you though.
I'll be there taking photos on and off track (unfortunately not in any official capacity) but plenty of people purchased photos from me last time
Really looking forward to it! Hopefully it won't be as cold as I remember last year being!
