Hi, hoping to catch some of the Mille Miglia around Modena or the hills to the south this year.

The official route map is vague and so are the timings. Does anyone know a good source of better info for planning?

Thanks

I can't remember how I found last years timing ,big help I know but looking at the route of 2017

Modena is going to be late afternoon seeing as it's near Parma which is that night's ,Saturday ,

stopping point.

Wish I could go this year as the route up to Abetone is ace.

Cheers. Yes, worked out it'll be late afternoon too. Hopefully time to go to the Enzo museum in the morning then in a perfect world I'd like to find somewhere pretty on route big enough to have a few cafes. Want to spend the afternoon alternating between coffee, cake and car watching!

Not planning to go to Parma though, really want to see the cars out on the course.

Reach out to Phil Forum name "ThatPhilBrettGuy" I know Phil has done the Mille Miglia tour, he may be able to point you in the right direction smile

Found a detailed program ,well rough detail.

Lunch on Saturday starts at 1.10pm in Riggioni which is just north of Siena, no idea how long an

Italian lunch goes on for.

This just reinforces that cars won't be near Modena till late afternoon.

I'd just rock up on the SS12 near Abetone or the SS66 from Pistoia in the afternoon and wait patiently.

The owner of the garage that looks after my Fiat has a 1948

Cisitalia 202 Nuvolari spyder and has had an entry for the last

2 years, not sure if he has one for '17 but it always helps having

a car that actually competed in period and is Italian.

I guess that explains the lack of info then!

Good luck, have you competed before? What car, we'll keep an eye out for you.

Found some good info - the Ferrari Tribute run follows the same route 90 minutes earlier, and they've published their route and timings smile

Planning is underway now...

Gonna be on the race as well this year! After many years of following it I will be finally part of it! Another of the bucket list things crossed out after doing the Targa Florio earlier this year! smile

Always followed with my own car and only for the bit that goes from Florence to Bologna which is one of the best ones from a driving perspective. Many friends did the Ferrari Tribute...it's very well organized but very tiring as well due to the fact that it will start 1hr or so before the oldtimer race, so every day you'll have to be in the car at 5am...

There's a rough map still on the 2017 route on Mille Miglia website.

Just compare it to an actual Italy map will give you the route.

The route changes yearly anyway .

By all accounts, the 2017 route wasn't a classic so maybe choose another year as you're not actually chasing the live race?

One which goes over the Futa and Raticosa passes?
