..it was obvious trade was low due to all the cars paced in at clearly lower rates to pad it out.....
It's been like that for several years, where the trade stands that are removed before the public days are replaced by random show cars.I suspect part of the overall problem is that there is still the differences between the trade and public days.
Any clubman motorsports competitor who has been busy working in the week to fund his racing goes along on the Saturday and finds all the good stuff has gone.

It's the same with the farm machinery show that was happening the same time , any farmers looking for a new combine or tractor is going to know there local salesman and get a demo , there not going to rock up to a show and make a order.
I went to the last one before covid arrived but was able to buy a half price ticket on a black Friday deal. I kept looking to see if they did the same this year but they didn’t. It’s massively expensive. A car friend who had his car on a stand said they each had to pay £200 too.
Prices like that are never gonna the response they want.
I’m glad I didn’t go now

We went Saturday me, my son and my dad. Me and my dad have been going for years, this year was our fist time since 2018. We were quite disappointed to find that there were only 2 or 3 halls for Autosport with no karting area, main reason for going as my boy does karting and wanted to spend his Christmas money on a new set of graphics. Probably wont attend again which is sad as it used to be our yearly warm up for the upcoming season spending too much money and coming back with copious amounts of free posters and stickers.
Last went in 2019 I think and it was already a bit smaller than compared to previous years in the mid 2000s. I also didn't really see much advertising for it thus year unlike previous and it seems to have been a but earlier than previous years (correct if wrong) I have just watched the DannyDC2 video and I did quite enjoy his sarcasm....the halls did look so bare though!
Hi there,
I have added a gallery from the 2023 Autosport International Show to my website.
This event was much smaller than in previous years and the tuning car show was perhaps not to everyones taste but it was not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.

A slightly different price point to the autosport international this year I’ll grant you.
Agreed. It literally was a couple of hours I was there. Total cost, Nearly £100. That isn’t good value which ever way I try to spin it. A slightly different price point to the autosport international this year I’ll grant you.
Good pics though Tim. I’d usually take a good selection but just wasn’t taken by the endless displays of over-styled tacky cars
No chance we'll be back this time.
By contrast, the classic car show this weekend was absolutely superb, arrived at 10:15am and leaving at 5pm we thought we could have handled at least another half day to get round and explore everything.
If I'd been going to watch the auction I would definitely be doing a weekend there. Sparse thread here;

Loads of vids on YouTube though, get yourselves there next year.

The reason people go is often to pick up things like fixtures aswell, certainly it used to be for me. They are always handy and you can then start chatting and finding out little trinkets. I have never been interested in the live show it has been the same for about 20 years I know they are limited, but thee is no imagination to any of it, it is just lets churn put the same crap every year, ask a bit more and hope it pays off. it has been the laziest show for 25 years, they know they dont have to make any real effort as people are bored and will watch cars being unloaded for a tenner!
I can recall going decades ago and there were tons of stalls selling clothing, art, supporters clubs had stands there, race teams had stands there, championships, loads of people there, was easily a full day maybe more.
Indeed, the whole show is sadly a shadow of its former self. It seems as though its place has now been taken by the Historic Motorsport Show (Race Retro as it may now be called) at Stoneleigh. Haven't been to this itself for a few years, but it reminded me of the better show that Autosport International used to be - suppliers with big trade stands where you could try helmets/race suits etc, 'show deal pricing' for attendees to encourage people to purchase on the day, and then the superb array of the 'Slowly Sideways' rally cars. Granted the route the cars took was a bit crap going around the show ground, but still getting to see and hear those cars in action was immeasurably better than the crap exhibited at Autosport imo.I can recall going decades ago and there were tons of stalls selling clothing, art, supporters clubs had stands there, race teams had stands there, championships, loads of people there, was easily a full day maybe more.
