Agreed, breakfast was great and as was the coffee (and service from the chaps)

Interesting that Porsches and a couple of esteemed guests were allowed to park at the front, Twingo included. (Rightly so). The rest being put in the back seemed a bit off, when there was so many there early.

For a fiver donation to charity it was a good day though, and well worth it. I even nipped into Boots for toothbrush heads before heading home. hehe

Didn't manage to get a ticket unfortunately, and wish I'd checked the forum as it looks like a few people were selling their tickets.

However, some brilliant events organised this year so a huge thanks for organising.

Would have liked a peek inside Porsches new HQ too, plus could have also popped around the corner for an Ikea fix too so a double wi ! smile

Cheers to the PH Events team this year.

Looking forward to more of these !

Thanks to the PH team for organising, was a lovely morning out with a surprising amount of sunshine coming our way on the day.

Echoing some of the comments, while it was lovely to see some of the Porsche GB fleet, slightly underwhelmed with the venue more geared towards the Porsche Centre, and while space was a considerable factor, lumped round the back was a slight blemish to an otherwise well executed day.

As always, #PHSS is always a good place to catch up with friends and meet new faces - as well as ogling over some stunning metal bearing all types of powertrain pronouns.

Here's a small selection of what I captured (with image hosting sites butchering quality) :

As previously mentioned, huge thanks to PH, also to the eBay team, Porsche hospitality and the caterers Hillbilly's Street Kitchen and Carburettor Coffee, keeping us fuelled up for the morning.

Thanks PH and Porsche for arranging, we had a great morning. Breakfast baps were much appreciated, and the Carburettor Coffee guys didn't have to try very hard to sell me a bag to take home.

Know it's not usually the done Sunday Service thing to park cars of the same type together, but the exception absolutely worked in this instance, and the array of Porsches looked fantastic in front of the building in the welcome sunshine. Plenty to look at down the side as well.

Good to talk things GP2, hot hatch, and road trip with PH too. Hopefully the merch sales will be working at Thruxton. wink

Just a few FB quality pics, as it's been a while since I've used image hosting.

Great weather, great bacon roll, great morning. Realised a (literal) childhood dream seeing a 959 up so close, having had one on my wall in 1986.

Vaguely funny story from that time...I was at a school outside Bath and word spread quick that a cool 959 poster would come in the post (it was a boarding school) if you wrote a letter to the Porsche GB press office. I did and got one...cool image of a 959 against a very 1980s black and neon pink background. In fact, so many of my classmates wrote to Porsche that Porsche wrote to our headmaster after a few weeks with a batch of posters and a request to the whole school to stop sending in for posters as we were getting too many!!

Thanks PH, had a nice morning out. As a Porsche fan had as many interesting cars as I'd expect at an event like this (not sure the complains above are about).

Btw, loved the pristine E36 Coupe.

What is the back story on that 959? Looked "well used"...

A few shots from yesterday.

A great Sunday Service, whoever ordered the sunshine and warm weather did a great job.

The 996 R Turbo almost went unnoticed amongst a lot of much more modern machinery. I chatted to the owner, it was bought by his father as a present to his mother, and used as a daily. beer

A great day, I do wish there'd been a wider variety of cars as per usual Sunday Servive events but fantastic non the less.

Ben,

Many thanks for all the effort you guys put in but I'm sorry to say I was disappointed with Porsche for this one. This was nothing more than a dealership open day as other than parking some of their 'unobtanium' press cars in a huddle, Porsche GB were nowhere to be seen.. On top of all of that, all the dealer cars were locked up and whilst there was a good turnout of Pistonheads Porsches, the limited numbers meant there were very few interesting cars in the car park to look at.

Honestly, I get to see more if I call in on my way to Ikea, than what I saw on Sunday. frown

Decent sausage & egg butty though and the coffee guys were a good laugh. hehe

Thanks for the feedback, but sorry to hear you were disappointed with this one. As well as the Porsche Centre Reading crew, there were six staff from Porsche Cars GB there on Sunday, all branded up in their staff clothing. One of their main motivations for hosting the event was to engage with PHers and be on hand to answer any questions about the inner workings of the business. They spoke to loads of people on the day, so it’s a shame you missed them yourself.

With such limited space, parking was always going to be a challenge but we still had a great eclectic mix of cars as per usual, just on a slightly smaller scale. With limited space in front of the venue and the majority to the side and the rear, I'm sorry to hear a few people felt the latter didn't feel like part of the event. This is no different to BMW, where there's even less parking out front.

We’ll be back at Thruxton on 3 December with space for 500 cars, so keep an eye out for that going live soon.

I didn't get a chance to take any photos myself this time unfortunately, but here's a few more pics from last Sunday from a photographer that Porsche had on the day:

Full album can be found here. Keep an eye out for Thruxton going live this week!
