Evening all. Long term lurker and since a recent Golf R purchase, event attendee with a young 7 year old who is car obsessed.

Would anyone be able to give some advice on the format of the day? The event is a 09:00 start, does that mean cars arrive from 09:00? I'll be driving up from London and was keen to understand ideal times to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the day.
Congrats and welcome! Yes the bulk of cars will arrive between 9:00 - 9:30, so we recommend arriving early to make the most of it. Depending on the weather, people will start to leave around 10:30/11:00. So get here early and bring lots of warm clothes, it's very exposed so colder as a result.
Thanks, that's great.

I can’t make Sunday now and have a ticket for myself plus one passenger. Is the ticket transferable? Not sure how I cancel.

Track walk with Mission Motorsport at 11:00

A few people have asked if it'll be possible to pay on the day to join the track walk with Mission Motorsport at 11:00 – I can confirm that this will be possible with cash, so if you're not booking online, please bring cash with you on Sunday to pay for this.

Skid pan no longer running

I'm really sorry to be the bearer of bad news on a Friday, but unfortunately the skid pan will no longer be running for us at the Sunday Service next week. There was a mix up when the event moved from the 10th to the 3rd of December, and unfortunately Thruxton have other bookings on the day, which is prohibiting Mission Motorsport from running our usual skid pan sessions.

MIssion Motorsport will refund everyone that has booked on. Once again, apologies to everyone who'll be disappointed about this but hopefully you can still make it along and we'll see you there!
Such a shame this has happened, not sure i'll bother with the trip now as the Skid Pan was the main reason for going. Have to say i'm abit disappointed that this wasn't communicated via Email, I only found out via this thread by pure chance. I imagine there will be alot of disappointed people on Sunday!

Yes really sorry about this, Mission Motorsport have handled the skid pan sessions so we're unable to contact those booked on. I've just spoken to them and it turns out the person who has been handling it is on leave, but hopefully everyone booked on will be notified today/tomorrow.

Extremely disappointing about the skid pan but still looking forward to the day itself. Is it just me or is it not possible to edit your booking after confirming it, mainly around the passengers thing. My dad wanted to bring a mate so booked another car "as a precaution", but we are likely to only bring one now (partially due to skid pan cancellation), don't want to waste a car space if others are waiting.

Is there anyone not attending who has a ticket to give away please? My brother would like to drive up separately and the site is showing sold out - thanks!

What a balls up, no communication just lucky to find out skid pan cancelled when I got an Eventbrite email into spam folder! Called Thruxton and they seem just as confused about it all too - shame.

Just got a nice email from the Mission Motorsport people and my refund has been received.

Shame for them (would have been a nice little earner I’m sure), shame for PistonHeads (clearly not their fault), shame for us too, but hardly the end of the world. These things happen.

Roll on Sunday.

We've got 650 cars signed up cool Albeit through Thruxton's sign up/ticketing system, so we haven't used our own list this time around.

Really sorry the comms haven't been better around this, the Mission Motorsport team are small and have only been able to action this today due to the key person being on leave. It has been out of our hands as they took the bookings so we couldn't access the data.

Totally appreciate how disappointed people booked onto the skid pan will be – it's a real shame to miss the valuable fundraising activity for MM. They'll still be there running the track walk, which people can pay (cash) for on the day. Fingers crossed it'll be business as usual next year!
