Yeah I don't really get charging 'display cars' to display at car shows. Charge the punters, not the exhibits. I've done a few cars-in-the-park type events but the novelty soon wears off as you see the same stuff every time (not to mention the queues in and out!)
Comedy mention to the PCGB events at the Motorist in Sherburn charging people to get in somewhere which is free literally every other day of the year. Porsche owners gonna Porsche I guess.

So far I continue to enjoy local and national events and will support them the best I can.
I don't pay to get in with a car, but always buy food, drink, any part consumables I can within reason, and have the odd go on the fair equipment and the like. Wall of death is also always a must!
At the larger events, I almost always know some of the steam traction engine lot, so its worth it for the social side alone.

This just popped up in my feed: https://www.instagram.com/surreycarmeet/?hl=en
From(!) £11. To park and look at someone else's parked car?

£3 for my local Cars & Coffee. Used to be free but they brought in tickets to control numbers more than anything. I don't mind paying that at all.
Yeah, that's fine. It seems like a negligible cost. This happens regularly near me: https://coolflo.co.uk/pages/summer-cruise-nights-a...
£5 but I just can't bring myself to throw away £5 for nothing. It's not like it's about numbers.

Now we're talking. And everyone probably spent money on food etc.Plus you could go watch spitfires taking off.
This Saturday is the Peter Saywell charity day, which will see some of his hyper cars out on track.

I went to a classic car show in Wem at the weekend. It was free to enter with or without a car, and as a spectator you had to park in the town car park which was also free on a Sunday. Ok not the biggest show in the world but it can be done if you want to.
That sounds perfect. Doesn't have to be massive. Just interesting. And it draws crowds in so there's money to be made for the organisers.Gassing Station | Events & Meetings | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
