Daz - what did DeR manage - I also don't see the C4S's number - both Finn and I were at 170mph - would be good to know how it performed
Don't know. Don't think beetlespurter was running in full nucleur mode on the day.
Craig, can you fill in any other gaps?

I have on my list the standard 997TT driven by the tech9 guys at 189mph and Rob from DMS in his 997TT at 193mph.
I'll amend the first post.

Ref.Der I have a vmax of 187mph for his car.
This is wierd, Craig.
On my first run of the day, I went through with a mild Corona, modest throttle and the board flashed up 183. The speedo was showing 190.
Run 2 with the speedo at 200, it flashed up 192 but then immediately went 183 - a contentious point I raised immediately with a number of the chaps back at base.
I must say, I never saw 187 because from run 3 onwards, every time I hit 6200 in 5th, the dreaded 'overboost' thumped me for a critical moment and it was 182-183 every time, as I limped through the beams.
Added to which of late, the car had been achieving what 'midnight runners' might term "acceptable velocities" - I was sure it had not pulled so well previously.
Oh bloody hell, I hate winter projects...

the RS6 did 169mph.
yep I got 169, not the best I expected, but since I had a faulty lambda probe, it will have to do
I seem to remember an acceptable velocity on the way up as well
oh yes I can never let down an opportunity to play with a fellow NUTTER !

Polarbert 128 in the clio 182.
Damn! 126 in the Peugot 205.
Yes, it's a pity it only managed 126 as we know it's capable of a lot more, I confirmed with the guys at work (auto engineering college) the most likely problem was fuel surge, meaning loss of fuel injection pressure hence mis-firing and immense flat spots getting worse each time we ran on less and less fuel, hey-ho better luck next time. Thanks once again Tallbloke if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have got to run it at all!

The thanks are due to Craig for inviting me and yourself for getting me to the event.
Next time I hope you'll be running the Rover SD1 with the big bore engine anyway!
though I'm not looking forward to the fuel bill for the round trip
