Did the Nobles really do 178 and 180 through the traps?

Both heavily non-standard (IRO 500bhp I think)....
Then the world makes sense again...

ps, i could be wrong but the owner said he saw mark in the kleeman sl600 do 197 on his final run!
Hi Craig, thanks for a well organised [as normal] great day at Brunters.Came home to a power cut so this is my first op' to post.Candle lit dinner ok would have been better if Mrs Markbe were back from USA.
Speeds on the day; 190mph [hood down] this is a new record which made me pleased.
Best in the morning was 195 mph.
In the afternoon I could not see the board displays so Im not sure,Craig when you have the info from the timeing boys please post it asap.Off to the Airport now to collect Mrs Markbe.
Mark
157 or 158mph for me in the alledgedly factory delimited CSL every time. Didnt matter whether i took perfect line thru the bottom corner and switched a/c off, or left thick black lines at the start and spun at the bottom corner. I think the other two were around 164. Need to get my induction flap fixed...
Thanks again craig!!
Thanks again craig!!

I did 178/179 with Oggs in the car. Now that's amazing . Clutch didn't like it though 180 is VMAX for these cars though as that's just on the rev limiter. I'm sure AdrianW did 200 it at least once as well but the timing went a bit wonky that run.

I think Paul (w8pmc) said that he hit over 180 in his M5. Think it might have been 181mph.
Paul has claimed exactly 180 on another forum, although I know he was trying to get 181 due to DMS Rob's M5 doing 181 earlier in the year. I'll put 180 in for now. Seems to be a bit of a spread of speeds for the CGT, so I'll wait for further clarification before posting anything.
Yep 180MPH exactly (you been on M5 Board Daz??). Could not crack 181MPH unless the timing mush has different than my seen 180?? I recall last time that as the display does not have any numbers after the decimal that a few cars who achieved more than .5 over their viewed time went up to the next digit, so i'm hoping i managed a 180.9. Anyhow what an awesome day. Wish i'd got out in the CGT but as usual too much time is spent gabbing. I'm happy she could do 181 perhaps even 182 if i could remember to switch the bloody air-con off & perhaps alter the traction setting (with it totally off the back just wants to snap out under load).
As a caveat, at least the BMW soft speed limiters are constant as pre-limiter removal i got 163MPH, as did your brother in is E60 M5 & the CSL's.
Another great Vmax. 198 on the final run (sorry Leon)having being stuck at 196/7 all day. The Yellow Peril is still poorly with a duff MAF sensor so there is more to come esp when I track down that 102 octane jungle juice that Leon was running!
Thanks Craig for organising the day, Rude Girl and Pod for the hospitality, Bomber Denton for keeping me awake on the long haul back to Plymouth, Andy F for the running repairs, DAZ for the Esso escort and all those who hopped in the left hand seat for a blast, your smiles serve to remind me that it's all the better for the sharing!

What a superb day. Thanks to everyone for coming along and making it a lucky VMAX 13.
Special thanks to Rude Girl and Podie for once again opening Rude Towers for the splendid tucker and banter beforehand - lovely to see you both. Sorry to hear about the idiots who nearly spoiled this particular event but hopefully this time things went smoothly.
Managed 156 in the SL on both runs, once with me at the helm, second with the Earl of Bolton in the driving seat.
Thank you to those who took Tom out for a couple of runs - he crashed at about 9pm last night!
See you again in Spring and '14.....

Morning gents!
Had a great day - thanks to Craig for organising. Was great to meet many of you. Think my top speed was 181 through the trap but seemed to manage to loose the seal round my windscreen mid day which was not ideal.....along with smoking brakes whoops! Think I need to consider changing from ceramics to alcans.....I took quite a few pictures so as soon as I get them I'll post them on here!

Greg,
What idiots who nearly spoiled this event?? What happened.
I managed to get Tom out on a run & he was totally un-phased (far too young to be that cool). Was a shame as the lap before i'd had my big moment on the last bend completing a full 360 & a bit extra in a huge cloud of smoke, so i think that might have got Tom's pulse racing as i was $hitting myself.
Paul,
It was something that happened chez Rude Towers at the last VMAX breakfast, not this one. Lets just say some idiots didn't treat the facilities with much respect at all. I don't think we had the same situation this time (I'm sure RG or Pods would have said something to me yesterday).
Lovely M5, that Paul. I went out as a passenger in Lee's car and it was very, very good.
