PS Those with cameras are asked to assist for the movie.

PPS Can you (JeremyC) consider driving through Petworth again and we may be able to set up a camera in the town picking up the cavalcade as it passes through (quietly of course)

Don't worry mate, I don't think it'll be that early. Perhaps more like 6am

If it is a 05:26 start, I may be able to make it

It also depends on the brekkie location. I have to be in Dorchester by 10am to lead the Dorset bunch (minus them wots going to LM for the PreQual) to Oakley. If brekkie is complete by 08:30 should not have too many problems ! (later if further west tham Portsmouth)

I think I may need to speak to "friends" with helicopters and see if they can follow and film!!

Might have to pay their fuel bills etc though . .

Maybe a thought for future

Excellent idea....think they could keep up?
LB (who will bring along a few tips to offer budding camera operators what works well and what is perhaps less good)

I was thinking more of an "Apocalypse Now" style . . flying low overhead . . dropping smart bombs on yer red hat!

Oh and "numpty-clearing" on the roads ahead . . .

Maybe we need an intro of some TVRs emerging from orange smoke . . .slowly crawling along . . .maybe a la "Taxi Driver" . . .

I really can arrange a 'helicam' if you ever wanted one – not cheap though.

I'll be reprising my stunt-cameraman role from Surrey Run 2, with Luca. Be happy to offer camera operators any advice (though don't expect the quality of said advice to be all that at stupid o'clock in the morning )

I think we should see the prices . . . as it may come in useful for the full-length director's cut . . .

Just driven the route to check it and can offer you eighty miles of great roads . Even found a Cafe for breakfast-by-the-sea if anyone wants it.

Just got to commit it to paper and I'll send it out to you all.

Oh, and as is traditional we will be passing through Petworth.

Directions for the route have been emailed to all those who have replied on this thread or emailed me. If anyone else would like a copy, contact me through my profile.

We will be meeting in the car park outside The Tussaud Group offices in Silverglade Business Park, Kingston Road (KT9 2NN) at 6.15am, aiming for a 6.30am departure. The business park is on the A243 very close to junction 9 of the M25 (on the right if coming from the M25, close to Mole Valley TVR and just after the BP station).
www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=517166&Y=161447&A=Y&Z=1

The route is about 80 miles and it will take 1.5-2 hours until we reach our breakfast-by-the-sea destination.

Hopefully with our early start we'll have the luxury of the roads to ourselves.

And the opportunity to wake up Petworth, which will be nice.

Seriously Good Breakfast

Thanks to the efforts of one of our fellow Dawn Raiders, PHer scooby_snax (Steve), we now have a superb venue for our slap-up breakfast-by-the-sea!

Steve has arranged for us to be fed at the Hayling Island Sailing Club (www.hisc.co.uk) who will provide a "5 item" breakfast for £2.50, or a "7 item" for £3.00 (coffee is an additional £0.70 I believe). The club is a brand new multi-million pound development right on the seashore, so should provide a spectacular location for us to scoff.

So that we can give the club some idea of numbers, can you let me know if you plan to have breakfast there (so far I've assumed we'll all be hungry....).

The plan is that we will follow the previously published route to the Inn on the Beach, after which Steve will lead us in convoy to the sailing club and oversee parking. I have emailed you all a revised version of the instructions with this information.

See you all bright'n'breezy on Sunday morning.
