There will also be a £60k Britcar 380 BHP M3 with sequential gearbox and carbon everything giving passenger rides at £50 a time (4 laps) which is bookable with me in advance at simon@stingray.co.uk.

I don't wish to be rude, but in my mind, paying to be a passenger in a car is on a par with paying to watch someone else having sex. I don't suppose there's any chance, for a rather more inflated fee, that you'd be willing to hire out the driver's seat of the M3 for those laps?

Sure, we could rent the driver's seat...would have to take it out of the car first though and I am not sure that sitting in the drivers seat on the paddock floor would be very exciting! :0)

Problem is, if you miss a gear (and it's easy to grab a neutral if you're not used the drenth sequencial system) and buzz the engine it's £10k. If you pop the gearbox it's £12k! Everytime we have ANYTHING done on the car it's £5k even if we just want it washed!!! :0( God forbid someone drives into something or someone! Also, it is impossible to get insurance unless you have a race license and at least one year of race experience, and even then it is over £1,000 a day.

So, to put it into perspective, it would be like have a beatiful Page 3 girlfriend and letting 12 people you don't know have sex with her one after the other! For sure, she would never be the same again.

Sorry!

Wouldn't be so sure. One of the most exciting rides I've had was with Shorty driving my Chimaera round Snetterton.

In fact if he's able to turn up I would pay him to passenger me round in my own car!!

Add to that (and I am not saying I am in the same class as Shorty), full slicks, 380BHP, race suspension & brakes at 1050kg, carbon fibre front splitter, rear diffusor and rear wing, gearshifts in 28ms with perfect corner-weighting, and I would say it would be a LOT more enjoyable than watching someone else have sex !

The most exciting (and scary!) ride i've ever had was on the back of a Honda Fireblade round Donnington.

This sounds awesome, will be interesting to see if my car can take a full 30 mins of thrashing, especially the brakes yikes

Most exciting for me was in a BMW M4 round the Ring driven by a professional racer. Absolutely fantastic, but not at all scary due to the skill that oozed out of every pore. He was doing his seat belt up, adjusting the brake bias, brushing his hair, pointing to a nice tree, scratching his big toe, asking what you think of the EU's common agricultural policy all whilst getting air at Pflanzgarten and overtaking the ring taxi at the same time. It was quite bizarre.

Never really been taken out my a professional driver but I did however get taken out by a fairly confident driver in a 500bhp RS4 around castle combe. It was good fun but he didnt do a great deal of talking due to his level of concentration!

When it was my turn around the track I'm sure I scared plenty of people.

My wife has categorically told me that I am not allowed to track her 330i Touring should we go in that, neither am I allowed to track the motorhome should we hire it. I think the latter is particularly unfair as I could go down in PH folklore if I were to do it. hehe

Pikey - Fabian Sigwart in the M4 !? E30 M3 with an M1 engine. The car is an amazing piece of engineering and I agree with you, one of the best passenger experiences I have ever had. eek

Nigel and I were planning on taking the RV on the track, needless to say it isnt happening!

My car won't be seeing the track this time however.
