Anyone interested?

If anyone's coming as a passenger and feels like being a really good Samaritan, I could quite do with finding someone to share a bit of the driving with.

I'll be coming from Manchester.

We're coming from north of manchester... tossing up weither to go down the M6 or cross the 62 and down the M1 and join up with some others at Leister Forrest East services.

Leicester? M6/M69, I think - that bit that continues out the other side of the M1. M62/M1 is two sides of a rather large and wonky triangle...

So... according to theAA its a 200-250 mile trip taking around 3:30 hrs.

hows about we start say Poplar 2000 services on the M6/M56 junction about for 10ish, leaving 10:30.

maybe stop at Stafford Services at 11:30-11:45...
continue down the M6 (i'm a cheapskate and avoid the toll unless i have to) and next stop - Corley Service Area 12:30-12:45
final stop if wanted Huntingdon Fenstanton Services 13:30-13:45
final push to Snetterton for 14:30

could reduce the stops a wee bit to just Corley - so 2x 2hr or so stints

That sounds like the biz.

Stopping every hour works for me - makes sure everyone (and their car) is well hydrated, keeps the comms up.

I don't know what the etiquette is with speed in convoys - is there a gentle(wo)men's agreement about sticking in the general region of 70 so that nobody has to choose between keeping up and points/fine or something?

Edited to add:
If anyone's bringing a passenger down (or indeed if anyone's planning to come but isn't bringing their own vehicle) who'd be willing to do a shift driving my Micra, I'd be hugely grateful: the PA I'm bringing to PF is too new a driver to be insured on it (tis free to insure an additional driver for up to a month) and it's a helluva long way for a sore-backed Becca to drive solo...

No, I'm stopping in a hotel just up the road, it's only 6 months since my heart attack so I need my rest. John

We on for Knutsford at 'arf 10 then?

Any way we can wangle it to meet some more PF-bound folks en route, I wonder?

WTF is LFE?

Wooley Edge is on the M1, isn't it? Knutsford's on the M6, ages before we get that far South and East.

Knutsford services is between junctions 18 and 19. 21A is the big M6/M62 junction, 20's the M6/M56 with a lot of the Manchester, Wirral and North Wales traffic, 19 is the South Manchester and Cheshire traffic.

as said, Knutsford is before LFE... but coming from that direction to get to LFE means going north on the M1, turning at the next junction, and coming back down southbound
