Yeah ... I only went to see three people ... one of 'em gave me a glass of champagne and the others fecked off a day early ... so I came home again wink

Seriously though ... how many tents will be left standing in the morning is anybody's guess!
Emma and Ron left early too?? yikes I know her tent was tiny, but I didn't think it would be in danger of getting washed away - what was Ron's excuse? hehe

Emma was still there when we left, we felt a bit guilty as our tent/hotel was shielding Emmas from all the nasty winds, so it was open to the elemnts, when we went frown

No, we got up and had brekkie, considered going home then thought it was a waste, and that it was shame to miss the band,
so we chilled out for a few hours, fell asleep and then woke up- STILL RAINING!
so we made the decision to come home- mainly on the basis we were cold wet and the weather was going to get worse. frown

My tent was struggling to remain intact so made the decision to cut and run....didn't fancy a night in the Chim! Emma and Rob helped (thanks guys) and we also helped Rob take his tent down but they had decided to stay (Rob was going to sleep in his Lupo yikes when I left). The drive home wasn't great either....the rain was unrelenting and visibility was difficult but the Chim got me home at 1.00 a.m. and I went straight to bed!

Amazingly my £29 Tesco tent didn't collapse (leaked a bit due the wind blowing water UP the side of the tent and through one of vents). I can see myself the the photo stuffing its contents in the Saab.

Can't decide if I can be arsed to dry it all out now though!

irony. like bronzy, only more fitting.

i was too weak to show up when it was raining, yet ali was asleep in her car by 8pm and action man nick P was home first thing this morning after 'surviving' a night in a car, which has resulted in a poorly back.

and im about to head back in the rain.

Sorry chaps, I feel embarrased having started this thread only to find out that Ali nicked off home early rolleyes

Lucky I didn't come all the way to see you Ali wink (just kidding)
Maybe next year... (Too busy in summer here to do BTaP although that looks MUCH more my style, I don't do camping)
That motorhome in Pikey's pics looks the ticket; whose was that?

Sorry Tim, when we spoke I'd been reliably informed that they weren't coming frown

And I stayed up till 10.30pm - you rang me to say you were going to bed at 4.30pm! hehe

It was cold, wet and horrible - most of us went home, bring the sun with you for next year please? biggrin

Steve's. Although unless you know him, that'll mean nothing as he's not a PHer!

Seriously though - I never knew they made motorhomes as incredible as that one.

4.30 Ha!! it was nearly midnight here and I needed some sleep so I would be fully functional wink for our "dirty weekend".
Have put some pics of where we went instead on Gorvid's "who isn't going" thread (which I notice you have gatecrashed rolleyes )

Ben do they own that motorhome or was it a rental? Any idea of the cost? If I do a PF I would seriously want something like that biggrin

Don't know on either.

However, I don't think they're really in the spirit of things like PF. Steve used a motorhome as his wife and children were there and looking after them in that is easy. But the thing is you go inside, shut the door and it's as if you're in your own little world - you're no longer at PF, but at a hotel.

I think if you're going to go to PF and you want the atmosphere, you should be in a tent. It's a bit like people who go to Le Mans and stay in a hotel... IMHO they're not getting the whole weekend.

Camping is more fun when you're only staying the one night and you're tent is dry because it's only just been put up...

I know what you mean, I guess for me the alternative would be a local hotel but with a MH I could have the comfort and still be onsite. I could see myself staying up all night (believe me I play air guitar with the best of them wink ) and only crashing in the MH when too drunk to stand. I don't think you need to suffer the cold & damp to be "in the spirit" (mind you I have just shaken off mild pneumonia so I'm prolly a bit biased ATM wink )

eta I would (could only afford to) do it by sharing with several other PHers, so I really think it could add to the jollies of the weekend rather tthan detract... BTW did Buster do PF this year?

Bah! Wear more clothes and buy a tent that's waterproof - it's what we did!

You want "cold & damp"? Try this... http://www.pikeynet.com/05/02/21/gc.htm#background I did biggrin
