ThePassenger and me decided to decamp after the gazebo incedent. We got in at about 2am and passed out. We didn't get much sleep in the tent and sleeping in an MR2 is not an easy thing so we had to stop off at every services on the way to rest up. I'm trying to hairdry my shoes and we're still unpacking the car. All in all we had a blast despite getting very cold, eating barbecue induced charcoal and lots of beer. I wish I hadn't hit the whiskey in the bar though as I ended up a bit poorly...

We noticed you'd disappeared at some point when we returned to our tent (next to yours).
Glad you both made it home in one piece.

It was a bloody good time IMHO. Beer, people, silly cars racing. BBQ induced charcoal. Personally I think PF `08 is on the cards and we've learnt a lot about camping.

One downside...

The people who insisted yelled a rather personal question at me Saturday night.... the answer is 'yes, temporarily. Why do you want to suck it or something?'.

Thanks to one of the Rover guys who gave us some extra light while we erected our tent and Steve_D for giving us a hand, even though he'd admitted to having a few bevvies wink

Putting up tents in the dark is certainly an interesting challenge scratchchin

I lent our 12v electric inflator to the "I love bumsex" boys - I was a little nervous about asking what they wanted it for but presumed it was for an airbed. wink

Got to say it was strangely ironic when they got told "no ballgames". hehe (hence my earlier comment)

Blue Yonder and myself ended up taking our tents down just after 9pm last night. Mine had snapped a guide rope and pole and Blue Yonder's tent was on the verge of joining the 2CV race, so I ended up sleeping in the Lupo (not to be recommended biggrin). Shame he went home and missed the band, they definitely made the event. I took plenty of videos, just got to convert AVI files to mpeg and I'll post them, prepare to have a good giggle at some PHers dancing!! biggrin

All was going fairly well until the rain on sunday. My tent blew to pieces and everything got totally waterlogged. My car window got stuck down so everything in my car got soaked. I was soaked right through to my underpants. Decided to drive back at 1am monday morning - the car overheated and boiled all its coolant so i had to top it up with 4 cans of fosters as that was all i had to get it to a tesco 24 with was closed - luckily i found their tap though. It continued to rain all night i could barely see out of the window, car was all over the place tramlining and aquaplaning everything. Still driving at 5am when it dried up a bit and got light so wound it up to a good bit of speed when my windscreen wiper got torn off - oh yea and then i went through a gatso too fast - brilliant rolleyes (couldnt see the bastard)
So eventually got home at 6am with hyperthermia (from driving home is soaking wet clothes with the window stuck down)

Still it was quite good to be there, we brought the worlds supply of lager and monster much which was good enough for me biggrin Did a few sneaky dounuts on the grass when i first turned up which was fun. Great to meet some new people too thumbup

I need a shoutout to garlick - what a legend, when the marshals pulled the plug on the saturday night music at midnight - he plugged it back in and after that invited everyone back to where he was camping for some more loud beats on his car stereo! hehe

Delicious lunch! I could've saved meself several £ by not ordering a main course and just eating all the lovely vegetables from you lot's roast dinners.

The Bentley was... ooooooh, I think I want one. paperbag I have never, ever been in such a nice car. Ever. And it was (quite) fast, too! biggrin

OK, rub it in why don't you smile Was really gutted that I missed the band but the prospect of sleeping in the Chim just didn't appeal yes Having said that the Chim was totally dry inside as it was it's first outing in heavy rain since getting it...so a good test!
