What was his deal?

Anyone else think he deserved a bit of beating for being a kill joy? punch

Do you think he had a chip on his shoulder because he was working on bank holiday? shoot

E.T. had grown up a bit since his movie debut but was out of work and had found a new use for his finger.

Apologies for the poorness of my caption.

Saturday night after the Camero was doing doughnuts he threatened to chuck him off the camp. words along the lines of "your sort are not welcome, you have half hour to pack your stuff and leave"

This was shortly before he threatened to have us all arrested for causing criminal damage to a field by driving on it! laugh

It wasnt even the issue of the donuts to be honest...

I was kicking a ball around with Kinky Jnr and BmwDriverNigel's boy and he came flying over in his car, skidded to a halt and ordered us not to play any balls games.

From what I understand ball games are not permitted whilst the track is active which is fair enough, but no-one was on the track and we were the best part of about 400 yards from the track.

More so, I caught him making unnecessary use of his handbrake (pulling a 10ft skid to the entrance of the field in his carina in the wet!) which is abit cheeky having given an unnamed driver (wink) a bollocking for pulling donuts in the dry which didnt ruin the grass or leave any marks.

Do you think it had anything to do with the fact that he seemed to be on duty from Friday morning right through to this morning without a break? He seemed to be there all the time! laugh

scratchchin PistonFest does always seem to bring out the worst in Security guards ... or should that be "the worst security guards".

At least we didn't have to make any flags this time hehe

Let's face it, we are not really any trouble and the high jinks don't hurt anyone but ourselves, well, ok, Vixpy mainly wink

As a Snetterton Marshal I think that you lot were very lucky not to have been thrown off the site for pulling donuts in a campsite....

That's the point to be honest. If this had been in close proximity to people, tents or cars, then you would be quite right, and so would the security guard. The reason we felt this to be a massive over-reaction was that any such activity, had it happened at all, would've happened in the field next to the campsite which was at that time totally empty. The nearest things anyone could've hit were big red bins around 100yds away, and all the people etc, were another 100yds further on from that, and the other side of the fence. There was absolutely no way on earth that anyone or their property could've been damaged.

It's the old 'If a tree falls in the forest when there is no one there to hear it, does it make a sound?' scenario. If you are a Marshall/Bouncer/Steward/Bib/Security or whatever, you are still going to go wading into the forest and have it out with the fallen lumber anyway. It's got nothing to do with protecting people, or whether it actually matters or not. It's about rules is rules and respect my authority. And to be fair, if you don't understand that, are you any brighter than they are? There is/was absolutely no problem with the Camaro doing a few harmless donuts in an empty field. But the marshalls still have to do their job and tell you not to.
