I turned up for a bit but didn't really get to talk to many people (not that there were many there).

effectively got bollocked for the PH'rs doing donuts, handbrake turns and wheelspins around the car park as you left.

Thanks guys - I doubt they'd welcome another PH event in the future. rolleyes
Yeah - feckin morons. You weren't the only one to get a bollocking.

Looking round there were definitely more than 20...but probably less than 50 cars there over the course of the morning which were probably PH cars. And I agree with Paul that it was disappointing...it got enough press (although maybe the front-page link was a little late for people to sort themselves out for that Saturday if they didn't already know), and the weather wasn't actually that bad...

...because an ATOM made it out!!! biggrin

So disappointed with the no-shows. As far as the donutting...only the pale-blue be-stickered Tuscan, I think (no mistaking whether it was a PH car or not sadly...), certainly by the time we left around 1pm I'd not seen anyone else. There were a few more wheelspins on leaving...but to my mind that's pretty harmless stuff...and there was a certain Chim which sounded like thunder too!!! winkbow

Would they have us back...possibly not now, although I've seen worse behaviour there at other car meets, so who knows. He was doing it on a completely empty patch of car-park, but whether that's an excuse I leave to others more important than me...

IMHO Donington would be a good 'next' venue for the midlands anyway, as the collection there is well worth a visit, and it's got just as good road-links.

All that said, it was nice to get out, clear the cobwebs (and hangover), and meet a few more PH faces. If my computer behaves itself (virus issues mid-resolution) I should have some pics up before long. Probably won't edit any no. plates, but if anyone specifically wants theirs removed after it's up, PM me and I'll take it off and sort it.

See you all at the next one,

Martin.

As my son said when we were admiring the Atom: "the seats got a puddle in it; he must get a wet bottom!" hehe

I am guilty of having a spin on the way out.

However, before the jackals leap at my throat, i'd like to point out that i was at least 150 yards away from anyone else and clear of all possible danger. It was a large open area. It was harmless fun, and hardly worthy of anyone receiving a bollocking.

I apologise to all who have been affected by this

I got up this morning and it was hacking it down - for me there was no telling what the rest of the da was going to be like, what the standing water would be like etc and I wasn't prepared to head out in it.
Shame as I'd loved to have come along but the weather really did put me off.

Just about to go out but need to add a comment here.

I too was tempted by the empty tarmac, as were others. No harm done really and when speaking to the manager of the site he was worried about speeding on the perimeter road more than anything and that was a one car minority. I know as i had to deal with it.

Great cars, driven by PHers doing a cheeky spin well away from anyone is fun to watch, although admittedly in a crowded car park with close observers its a joke (not the case here). Lesson learnt maybe, but Gaydon will certainly have us back and we are chatting about other events later on.

Cheers again to those that came, next time we're heading to the MIDLANDS hehe

Cheers beer

David - not you - You were still there when we left wink

Well we got there at 10.15, stayed still 10.30 and saw about 8 PHers, no one I recognised (or their cars Kinky, Garlick!!)

When we left there was the orange Sag an Atom and a few Porks, and about 8 people milling about.

What time did you get there guys? Thought you were supposed to be there for 10am?

We had stuff to do so couldn't stay long, but we did turn up!!

As we were one of the first - but not the first.

We were there when the Saggy and Atom arrived - and got pics of them as they arrived too wink

Sorry to have missed you.
