Hi there everyone,

Here's the thing. The Classic Motor Show is sold and marketed by a very small team of, well, two people. Me (Paul) and Andy (not the rally driver) Rouse.

This will be the fourth time we've done the show together and I would really like to know what you liked about last years show so we can do it again this year, maybe a little better too.

A few things first, our show this year will run alongside MPH in Birmingham and everyone buying a ticket for Classic gets free entry into the static MPH event with a simple "upgrade on the day" if you want to see Jeremy and the gang. We are also re housing some of our power, prestige and performance classics in a new area of the show called MPH Classic, it will form a link between MPH in hall 5 and Classic Motor Show in Halls 1,2,3,3a & 4.

Also, after reading through some of the posts about our show, is there any confusion with the term classic? We think classic means Iconic, Timeless and Beautifull, rather than old or rusty.

Your thoughts?

Hope to see you in November, but please feel free to see us at Silverstone Classic and Goodwood Revival where will have stands and you can speak to either me or Andy to tell us where we are going wrong or right.

Bye for now

Thanks for the reply.

I think "blatent" is a bit strong, I actually do want to know what people think.

As for Sporting Bears and Dream Rides; you're right, I didn't mention you. I could go into how the Sporting Bears are such an integral and well known part of our event (comparred to the live stage which only appeared last year in current form) that everyone would already be aware your hard work at our show, the unique nature of your offer at an indoor event and the hundreds of thousands of pounds you have raised for deserving charities since you started but I thought it would sound too much like an advert. Which this isn't. wink

However, if you would like to book tickets........wink

Seriously, I am aware of how much work everyone from Sporting Bears cintributes to make the whole event a sucess, I've been watching the posts on here for a couple of years now and have always left with a smile.

Both Andy and I are keen to better find out what folk like, don't like etc We think we put on a great show, with something to appeal to almost every pistonhead, petrolhead or enthusiast.

We don't want to do this banghead when we could be doing this party

Nigel, is this the event you mentioned to me at Supercar Sunday?

if so, you should have two of our cars on your stand for one of the days......

Being a regular at the Classic Show there's not much that I could see in the way of improvement, it's pretty damned good as it is. The only 'extra' I'd like to see offered is for those who travel down in classic cars is to have parking arranged near the halls. I'd happily drive down in my '78 and have it parked in a 'classic parking area' which folk could wander round freely.

Just a thought......

Don't worry Paul we're not forgotten see post above from Harsh wink

Get Andy to help out with your work load you're getting too serious already and the show's months away smile

PS I like the parking idea for visitors with classics but how would Traffic judge what is a classic?
