GT2 Spoiler removal
Discussion
Be careful....at the higher speeds, the rear spoiler keps the back down, not only aiding stability, but countering the extra downforce of the larger front spoiler.....there was an instance of a Porsche rear spoiler removed at Vmax where the unblanced front effectively pushed down into the tarmac, lunching the spoiler....the extra force and inblance may only be effective over say 150mph.....you will get a few mph extra by removing the rear spoiler, but there is an outside chance it could be costly.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of this. Do you recall whose car this happened to? I know Guy removed his without issue. Thanks for the info.yellow 993 with Gt2 front/rear spoilers, rear was removed, spoiler set up since amended........you may get away with it, but 993 or 996, when Porsche up the size of the spoilers, they do both front and rear.....removing one will imbalance the car, these spoilers don't really have much additional effect up to around 120mph......it is at higher speeds the aerodynamics really come into play,,,other facors are how low is cars alignment, surface and wind conditions on the day...good luck
The 993 was me. Front splitter fell to bits at indicated 190, and fortunately only the middle section totally came off and was ejected out the back. The 2 outer sections coming off and going under the front wheels does not bare thinking about!!!

Yep, I recall that, it was a few vmax's ago now. I didn't realise this was due to you removing the rear spoiler though.Edited by MOD500 on Monday 13th August 10:00
I wonder if this is an issue on air cooled pork only
