Thanks to Craig and team from me as well. 7mph up on last time @ 165, finally my E46 M3 went faster than my E36, and apparently same VMAX as at least one of the CSLs (both of us derestricted). So well chuffed with that! Thanks to Paul for the RS4 lap too, that was fun - 4WD off the line is quite effective!

Got home safe and sound, and very very knackered!

Thanks to Craig and the crew for their continued hard work (although put a boot up the timing dudes arse); always well organised!

Major thanks to Daz for very kindly allowing me to pop my supercar cherry by allowing me to drive his awesome machine to 182mph! Absolutely mind blowing, and as always you are a gent!

Ta to Simon for allowing us all to waft about in his steeds - absolutely bananas both of them - the M6 is simply bloody fantastic!

Major thumbsup to Steve for larking about with me - hopefully we'll get a small slot on the VMax DVD! I really enjoyed that - and learnt quite a bit whilst every so often feeling like a drift god (whilst drifting past a spinning Z4 biggrin )..!

Apologies to Pod for scaring him to death whilst exploring the outer limits of the grassy bits hehe

Also, very nice to meet Tony and it seems we have a new VMax member - he's already planning to come to the next one with something special! also as always, pleasure to co-pilot with our Alec biggrin

Great day everyone - cheers!

Great day Craig thanks alot.

Nice to meet Paul, Simon (your cars were fantastic. I think the blue cloth, to clean the wheels, must have been worth 3mph!?) and the chaps. Great breakfast to boot.

Here's to the next one.....

Maybe next year we can sort out some stratstone corvette sponsership - I'm sure that you're in need of one for a course car.

Again, throughly enjoyable. Faster as the day dried out, goes to show how important the exit speed of the top bend is on Vmax. A 188mph best for the day (outside lane after lunch), they were accurate weren't they? It's just I did 171, 172, 175, 177, 178, 181, 188 etc and didn't think that I did much differently. The big difference was when the timing beacons were moved further down:

Suggestion. For those of us that like to mod and try, can we set a distance and then mark it for reapeated visits? I for one like to keep the variables in check.......science background nerd, soz.

As Usual thanks to Craig and the team. Usual first class organisation but bit concerned about the the ratvan going upmarket!

Also thanks to Daz for the ride in Simon's M6- another contender to replace the porker.

Thanks again to all the team for making this yet another excellent VMAX.

Best i managed was a 172MPH in the RS4 after the timing beams were moved down the runway, as up until then i could only get 164MPH. Slight departure from the mid 180's i managed previously in the E60 M5 & the low 180's in the RS6, but i was having more fun in the RS4, getting to grips with it's better than i expected traction of the line & acceleration.

Only shocker for me is just how long 5th gear is, as my fastest speeds were all in 5th gear just hitting the rev limiter, so with a full gear left, i'm fairly sure the car overall would get very close to 200MPH if i could find a quiet 5 mile runway.

Great to see friends again & a few new faces (those Vettes looked fun) & huge respect to our German friends in that plainly bonkers 9FF Turbo. It must have intergalactic speed, as the roof down run at 202MPH, i had commented on just how far ahead the Ultima was down the main straight & the 9FF really didn't look like it was gunning it, then it posted a speed of 202MPH roof down.

Looking forward to the next one.
