Don't forget the "BIG V8" TODAY, Sunday the 11th November meet at Runnymede (Junction 13 M25). Just checked the car park is OPEN. Kick off at 9:00AM for the early birds, 10:00am for the more sensible amongst PH'ers....

Details are:

As Virginia Water is a no go due to foot & mouth (Piston Heads usual meeting place), then this second choice is only a mile away on the A308: The Public Car Park between Old Windsor and the Runnymede Hotel is open next to the river. It's a good spot with lots of FREE parking. Errr WRONG! irked Looks like pay to park has crept in... Sorry guys, £1.20 for an hour, £3.60 for 3 hours or a fiver for the whole day. Robbing xxxxxds...

From the Runnymede roundabout follow directions towards Windsor on the A308. Drive PAST the Runnymede hotel (don't park up in their car park - that isn't the place we are meeting!) and you will see the big public car park on the right. You will see a sign on the right marked "Pleasure Grounds & River", pull in there and park to the left hand side.

Exact address is: Runnymede Pleasure Grounds, Windsor Road, Egham Surrey TW20 0AE

Hi

The guidelines are simple - just turn up and chat with fellow petrolheads - simple really! Enjoy the meet.

Maybe you could glue a couple of winches to the roof? That way you could park at the back of a V8 and people will think you are a tender, just like those little boats which hang off the back of mega-yachts, thus saving your blushes.

Of course, you would have to wear a cap and be ready to ferry people around the carpark. wink

OP says it all really.
VW closed so new venue. Time, place, post code all there.

I don't think anyone needs an excuse for a meet.

Enjoy
Steve

I'm pleased you said that Steve D, I thought I was on the wrong web site for a minute. Need a reason to take your toy out for a run, meet and speak with other car nuts? I don't think so....

Like the man said, ENJOY.

I wasn't too fussed with this meeting, but now it's got the Big V8 title, it'd be rude not to!! biggrin

Ooh sounds interesting I might be able to make it if the car is back. Is this an event organised elsewhere or just a Ph thing?

Just an informal gathering of petrol heads, primarily V8 owners but everyone is welcome of course!

The site is very spacious and there are activities and food on site. Plus it's next to the river and whilst it's pretty late in the boating season you can see all the boats (V8 powered of course..) going past from the many local marinas.

Just spread the word and it should be a good gathering!
