OK, this is the third attempt at this post
(the thunder keeps knocking the electric out!!!)

sorry, i dont know how to quote what someone said before, if anyone can enlighten me? so apologies if this sounds odd

mungo, yes that was me lol, and totally OT, I noticed you lived in harrowbarrow, i know the area well, lived in downgate (about 2 miles away) for a bit, just wondering how you liked the area and if you go back to visit at all?

also, following on from conversation about the a272, i just need to clarify that i was following AJ home and we did finally reach the A272, but only after getting lost!! lol, however if i'd have been in the lead then it would not have happened

It's not my fault they got the signs on the A3 wrong Anyway, I noticed at the last minute that you could actually rejoin it, hence the slight detour
Pity there were so many sunday drivers around though - particularly the numpty that pulled out from that layby when we were joining the A34

Nice one folks.
Big thumbs up to Don for organising the run down from Basingstoke - cheers mate.

Some pictures of varying quality Here

Thanks Guys, sorry we spent most of the time ON the beach; and in the sea! The sea looked too inviting not to, especially on the hottest day of the year.
At least I made the gallery

We eventually got back to the car park at 7pm, the TVR all alone! We crawled off the island and then flew down the M27!

See you soon.

David, and Sarah

Don

Cracking day again, thanks for organising. We too explored the A272 on our way back to sunny Andover and I just love that 'tunnel' before the Meon Hut cross roads.

Looking forward to POTB #3!

So many people and I still can't remember who is who when it comes to PistonHeads names - a rogues gallery is required me thinks.

Can I just say a big THANK YOU to ALL of you for coming yesterday and making the day a big success. It is YOU who make the day what it is....

First of all: A big round of PH applause for .Mark who, once again, instigated Pie On The Beach II and persuaded Ted to part with some PH freebies for the Golf competition.

Although the Golf had less players this year, something to with the melting heat I think, a good few did enjoy themselves around the Pitch and Putt - thanks to Ted for the prizes and thanks to all the players.

A big thanks to JeremyC who brought the Surrey Run crew - what a sight as you all arrived in the start point car park! Thanks for convoying your group down to join us.

Thanks are due to those PHers who helped out other Phers with car troubles. Thankfully we didn't have too many problems on the day. Your Chivalry was noted by all.

And finally...thank you for, once again, turning up and making sure I didn't look like a prat staring at the tumbleweed blowing across the Leisure Centre car park!

Looks like Pie On The Beach could become an annual event! Hmmmn...what else can I cook up for us...

Thanks again all.

I'd just like to echo what has been said already; thanks to Don, Mark and Jeremy, and everyone for making it such good day. Alison (Mark - girlfriend is the correct one! ), who is yet to post under her login name of 'happy vegemite' is chuffed to be able to say shes come 4th in a golf competition. She won't be mentioning the low number of entrants! Nice to meet people (although didn't get round to meeting enough!), and put names to faces. Roll on PotB III!

Alex.

Did you all see the plane flying extremly low over the sea? I was in the sea at the time.
Its on the front page of the local rag here. He has been branded an "idiot" by the police as he could have caused a serious accident.
I thought it was a fly by organised by Ted!

Saw him while we were playing golf. What a nutter - I said at the time, just one slip and it could have been curtains for a lot of people!
Shortly after the Police plane came over and he disappeared for the day - they must have got on the radio to him.

Sorry I didn't get to say hello Dusty!

My fault really. Didint get down there till 2:30 ish. Was still suffering from being in the sun all day saturday (cant they put aircon in Caterhams?!)
Had a chat with a few people in the car park and then went for swim. When I came back everyone was just leaving!
I suppose the next big meeting will be Black Tie?
Trouble is that its very close to the first of the new Le Mans endurance series on the bugatti circuit.
