Pie On The Beach - 2!
Discussion
Agree with Don,
Queues to get on the Island don't usually start until later in the day.
As for the parking it is public so there is no way we can 'reserve' any space, but the beach is about 3 miles long so if we don't get our old spot a rather noisy convoy might ensue to find somewhere good.
Having said that we were back from the sea last year and most people park to get a view so fingers crossed we should be OK. Even if we can't park in the big circle like laast time some judicious double parking will ensure we all stick together and those that want to leave earlier can weave their way out.
The good thing I suppose is that there are no marked bays so we can park and/or intimidate others in any way we like
All remakes re: queues and parking come with the usual health warnings!

The Portsmouth Evening news reported hours of queueing to get to the Witterings this week.
I took a drive down there after work last night and the queue coming back looked bad, very bad.
It all turned out good though cos I took a dip in the sea, had a lay in the sun and then got fish and chips. By the time I was done (8PM) the traffic had gone!
If the traffic is gonna be bad at Hayling on Sunday maybe worth staying down there for dinner to let the traffic clear.
The pub on the North side of the bridge to Hayling does excellent food. Huge portions and the fish is all fresh. A nice pub too.
Will probably be quite busy though.

... Is Mrs Ultimapaul and (IIRC) the young Ultimapauls along on Sunday?
As a reference just how many bodies can you get in an Ultima ?
Bob
If you saw them into small enough pieces then the answer is 16. You then need the help of a bloody good lawyer. Is bobthebench going this Sunday?

PMSL
Is this from personal experience or calculated data and does it leave enough room for the driver to progress ?
With reference to the parking I have come up with a 'Cunning Plan'.
I am trying to get hold of some official looking stripey plastic tape (possibly have some later this afternoon), on Saturday in the dead of night I shall go down to the beach and cordon off the area we used last year, that should keep the bleedin' day trippers from filling it up Sunday morning before we arrive.
Failing that, we will just have to take a chance - I'll keep you all informed.
I've looked in the Calendar but I don't see Nova Boy signed up*

Try to keep up....
Right, Sunday pass has been negotiated but the GF doesn't want to spend all day in the sun. So I'm bringing on old GF along instead.
Why is this of interest to you? Coz she is attractive and single. Plus I've got the camera to take a photo or two of you lot making fools of your selves in front of her
Can't wait to see you all,
Rob

How do you do it? don't think I'd get away with that......
I didn't say I wasn't going to have to pay. Looks like an expensive dinner is on the cards, with me driving. PH is costing me money. Things to do to the Chim, places to go in the Chim and ways of appeasing the GF after spending time in the Chim.
I've got to cut down somewhere

Naaaaahhh. What you need is a few expensive places to go...with the GF...in the Chim!
I can provide you with the locations of numbers of hotels that will cost you a fortune but are guaranteed to earn you more brownie points than you can shake a stick at.
