Cunning Plan Update:
I am now in possession of some nice dayglo barrier tape, will sneak down to the beach in the dead of night and secure a large area for us all.
All that remains is to hope the council don't come down and remove it or some dodgy pikey day trippers don't cross the line.

Picnic has been procured, I am ready and waiting!

I'd very much like to be there, but the missus has threatened to keep me in doing jobs around the house as recompense for us going to Rockingham last weekend (plus various other "your weekend, not my weekend" type things).

Please help me persuade her that we have to go to Pie On The Beach this weekend.

(Of course, this is doomed to failure as the net result of trying to persuade her will be to be to make her more resolute )

Jon, just tell her that if she misses PoTBII she will have missed the must do event of the year.
Given the calendar list and commitments from people to turn up this could be one of the best runs of the year.

Weather.

Gentlemen, Ladies, PHers, Friends, Romans, Countrymen.

I have noticed that the Beeb are predicting near record temperatures today and wall to wall sunshine.

Tomorrow, the Sunday, will be just as hot....but with the frisson of the possibility of a Thundershower. So although we will be baked we may also get a sauna effect too.

Can I suggest that bringing brollies could be a good idea. You won't need coats (too hot!) but some rain protection would appear to be sensible.

I'm considering taking a Gazebo... Given the nature of this kind of weather - Thundershowers only last a few minutes before its sunshine again - I don't currently anticipate any problems with outdoor activities...

Good idea Don, although I do have the local forecast and all it is showing is a big old sun

However, given the heat a brolly acting as a sun shade may be a good idea, especially for all those non-drivers.

Since Carz is driving down and I am nominated non-drinker and am driving home, we would love to join you for the route back Don. In fact the reason I am on here so late is to print them both out. See you in the am bright and early
