And finally:

They've been changing the forecast around and around. But what's for sure is it is going to be HOT! That brolly will either be useful for a ten minute downpour or a sunshade....

Sunblock and an Umbrella. Whatever next.

See you all in an hour or two...

OK, The Deed was done.
Last night around mid-night my daughter and I were on the beach making sure we have a good plot. same as last year, we closed the entrance gate and put some bright barrier tape across the open end, as long as no one moves it before we get there we should be OK.

One more thing to report, in the shade down here it is currently 25.2C - looking forward to seeing everyone!

Argh!!

Oh well, there must be one i can attend soon!

Glad the weather was good.

hi all,
just a quick message to say how good today was, being as i am new and dont know anything about cars yet, it was great to be made to feel welcome, and the cars were a pleasure to look at. To see and hear them roaring off down the A3 was also a lovely sight! even if i was left behind!
thank you

As discussed earlier today, looking forward to trying one of your famous curries sometime mate!

By the sounds of it I won't even have to turn the engine on to get back home again... just open up the rear hatch and as my nan always told me... "wherever you may be, let your wind and your water run free"

Some of the recipies here if you want to try them out

Well done Don and .Mark. Excellent organisation.

We certainly had

A good turn out started from Basingcity....

And various sightings of some renegade primate from Surrey on the way...

Hope the bystanders enjoyed the "Chorus" as much as we did on the way down

Great to see that our potential casualties of overheating and drive belts were mere technicalities and hope everyone got a good drive back too. We certainly explored some good roads, encompassing lots of shaded A and B roads of Hampshire, Sussex and Surrey - largely uncrowded too!

Another great day out - glad you enjoyed it Di Good to see everyone again, hope to go on the Somerset Saunter in October
We went back via the A272 - very nice bit of road (when it's not infested with numpties and sunday drivers ) there's even a short tunnel and a nice hill with a few twisties

Mmmmmmmm - A272 - used a few times on Surry runs but best enjoyed in the company of Madcop on the 2nd prize session I won at BTaP - twice. The B3046 is worth a blatt as well.

Hope to see you on the Somerset Saunter - John & myself have chosen a few stunning roads - with a few surpises too.

Looking forward to it I always use the A272 when I go to Goodwood - sort of sets the mood for the day
It's actually very similar to the road we went on today from Basingstoke.

A sizable curry followed by banana & rum ice cream with sugar strands has left me replete and sober (well with a pint of two of cider for company). Can't be bothered to wrestle a grockle tonight

See you soon Denzel.

Nice one folks. Glad you could all make it. Weather was a real corker for us all, it was so good to see all the cars out together again.
I even had one old chap talking to me about how we had all made his afternoon with the cars and what a nice bunch of folk we all were
As promised golf results below:-
1st. Ahmem, hmmmm, oopps! although the prize was deferred.
2nd. Pavla (hope the spelling is correct!)
3rd. Jon (aka Jonk)
4th. Ali (Mrs./Ms./friend? AlexH)
5th. Alex (aka AlexH)
6th. Jo (Mrs. .Mark) - Well done all for surviving not only the heat but an extraordinary amount of wayward balls - Bob you are not alone mate!

Sorry I didn't get to say hello to all of you, I did see the Fishes pulling in to the car park but I already had a beer on the bar and one must make priorities! BTaP maybe?

Big thumbs up to Don for organising the run down (and back) from Basingstoke - cheers mate.

Some pictures of varying quality Here
All available at a higher resolution, just mail me if you want copies. Also if you have any, post me the link and I'll bung it up.

Thanks again all, Bob and Dennis were talking about 'Hypothermia on the Beach' about 6 months from now, if there is enough interest, I'll try to sort something out.
And if I find out who unlocked the gate and took down my barrier tape!
?
