Wicked run, apart from the rain at the start, the last 2 sections were brilliant, thanks Jay, well organised again, good to see a nice selection of cars, nice food at the pub and a nice blat back to mine with Donny in toe. Jay is it possible next time we send a pheasant to heaven, we did some serious braking in order for that little fella to live smile

Not sure if i am spelling this right but that Camper sands road, wow wow wow...

Tops

Thanks,

Guy-Noble
Ps, I was quite shocked this morning to see an MR2 overtake a Noble M400, wonders never cease

My second Kent run but my first long one. Had a great time. Great roads, great company and some great food. Even rain and and a sucidal Morris 1000 couldn't spoil it.

Nice one Jay thanks a bunch.

Great run again and glad I stayed with it after drowning in between the M20 and Ashford section!Started to think of selling the tiger and having that elise after all. But then the sun came out....
Will post pics over next few days. Hope all enjoyed it as much as we did. Good on those that turn up and laugh in the face of the odd spot off rain (ha ha).....
Also, thank god for the RAC and the fact it was just a bottom hose clip come loose!
Cheers boys (and girls) and can't wait for the next one.

Thanks Jay for another well organised and fantastic run. I almost wimped out because of the rain but I am so glad I went in the end. Excellent roads, great companies and no offs despite the rain - made my daysmile! Sorry I couldn't stay longer at the BBQ, was exhausted, went straight home to catch up on some sleep and have just woken up!

Some memorable incidences of the run for me:

1. LuckyNumber72 Mini Copper S
A very naughty over taking manourve with on-coming flashing headlightsyikes.
Very quick progress on the b-roadsdriving.
Great upgrade from the Panda 100 mate,I look forward to seeing you in a Lotus one day.

2. MaximunJed MX-5
Putting up the hood up in the rain just before the roundaboutbyebye.
Sliding around after the roundaboutdriving - great stuff mate!

3. Harsh 360Spider
Following the 360Spider brought back great memories of my misspent youth on the classic arcarde game "Outrun" from the 80s cool

Thank again Jay for your effort, look forward to the next one.

For those who missed out or can't wait till the next one, check out the Dunstable hoon on the 31/08/08. ( http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0... )

Ladies and Gents,

Another great Kent Run!

Challenging weather to start with, great roads throughout, good variety of cars being driven well and with increasing rapidity...well worth the early start.

Managed to avoid too much in the way of wildlife this time...just a couple of dozey bunnies early on. And plenty of muddy water...

Best bit...

The Lydd Loop/Camber Sands road..or the "CamberRing" as J christened it!

The Vee, the gorgeous 911 C4S and the dark Noble blatting along it full on..lots of twisties, bit of sea wall for exhaust noise bounce-back and fun, fun, fun...Good addition to the traditional Rye section..I will defo be going back there for Sunday jollies!

Good work Jay.

Hope the MX5 has dried out, the 3000GTO is up and running again and everyone got back safely - including the mad MR2 Turbo who had to get from Rye to Sufolk and back on daughter fetching duties...

See you on the next one.

BF

Morning hooners,

Another epic Kent Run, proving that no amount of wet weather can spoil a great hoon, in great company on Kent's greatest roads.

The 'CamberRing' blast shall always remain memorable - BF summed it up perfectly in his post. Following his awesome screaming V6 with Guy's black Noble behind me was well worth getting up for. Perfect Sunday entertainment. clap

As usual Jay, your efforts & prep make this run great - thanks mate!

The 'stylish' addition of copious amounts of mud splatter made the Porker look more like a Land Rover by the end biggrin

Until next time,

Jules driving

Much much fun indeed!

My 6th Kentrun, and as allways it was well worth it getting up at 4:00 AM that morning.

Too bad the weather was a bit crappy at the start, but it sure as well made it very erm... interesting, on some road.

Same a couple people had to pull out, hopefully everyone and all cars are okay and ready for the next one.

Thumbs up Jay, you did it yet again bow

That's funny, i was thinking the exact same thing! laugh

I came across Harsh just past the Dartfort Crossing, so we drove to the start of the run together, then during the run i've been behind him (oh i do love that sound when it accellerates) for quiet some time, and when leaving the BBQ we came across each other again just before joining the M25, so had a little minihoon on there as well, good fun!

And now it's picture, and besides static car photo's of when they're parked i do like actual "in-event" pictures so that's why there was a camera hanging out of my window on several occasions.

At the start between 5:30 and 6:00 :

And then we were off :

First stop, Maidstone services. Photo is a bit blurry but wanted to upload one which had Danny's 3000GT in it as he had to bail out not long after unfortunately, hope ur car gets fixed soon mate.

And we're off again :

Fuel stop :

And when everyone started to pull out on Military road this grey vectra came flying in and wasn't happy he had to slow down...

Small break at the usual stop :

And behold.... the sun came out : clap

And the finish, were we enjoyed a well earned (as it's bloody hard work on some roads when it's pouring down with rain biggrin) BBQ :

Thanks again Jay for organising these great events!

Saw you taking that picture and obviously managed to get my thumbs up in time for you to take the picture smile

Memorable moments from the run for us were:

Following (and being followed by) the Ferrari and Cerbera, listening to the noise and watching people jump when the TVR lifted off was fantastic.

Almost spinning and then having to stop (while holding everyone up and probably ruining Jays picture/video at the same time paperbag)

Laughing at the size of Black Frogs boot space, and Jays 'lucky' pint!

Thanks for a great run guys, we'll definitely be on the next one and may be going to Dunstable as well.

A few pics from Sunday, didn't take as many as I wanted to as I was spending
way too much time trying to keep the Exige pointing in the right direction!

Gutted gutted gutted!!!!!
Just got back from a real mega-hoon around the north-west of Scotland and missed this. Cant believe you guys didn't wake me up, I live in Wrotham - so close to the Moat, AND my ///M Roadster was at home and ready to rock and roll.

Love the pictures, shame about some of the weather.

The north-west Scottish highlands are awesome for a real thrash. Very little traffic and stunning roads. Only problems being the price of unleaded in some remote places (up to 127p/litre), the lack of premium unleaded in most places, and some bad undulations which caused me to ground the car a high speeds a few times! Luckily the butt strutt protects other more vulnerable parts.

I will keep a look out for future hoons as it would be cool to meet like minded people who want use their cars as they were intended.

See ya soon,

Daz

On one of the roads we made a 360 turn on the roundabout, and came back on ourselves on the same strech, whilst someone was video'ing it, not sure who it was (Jay i believe?) but i would love to see that clip.

Didn't work out as planned - I'd hoped everyone might get a clear run past frown

Big thanks to everyone who turned up on the day, and a sincere congratulations for making it round without stuffing your cars in the hideous conditions. Thanks again for your words of support and encouragement, and for putting up with the scruffy organisation this time around - next time I'll be sure to quit my job before I get into setting up another run...

After all, it's a question of priorities!

I am considering the next one already.

Excellent event - many thanks Jay. Shame about the weather on the first part of the run.
Quite scary in places especially on the A20 with all that standing water.

Great pics from Karim - a couple of good ones of my car which is usually quite camera shy.

The highlight for me was looking in my mirror at the Ham Street turn off the A2070 and seeing a TVR doing a perfect slow-mo 180!!

Had to abort the first attempt as some inconsiderate person was coming the other way!
I used to live in East Sussex and have driven that road in both directions hundreds of times.

What a difference a week makes. I was down there only the previous Sunday in brilliant weather.
5 MR2s in convoy from Rye to Appledore in maximum attack mode! thumbup

Yeah I was gutted that the sun came out just as I had to leave and missing out on that bit of the route.
Oh btw BF what is mad about my MR2? smile The fun/££ ratio is unbeatable. thumbup

Still I got to have my own private Kent Run. Rye to the Dartford Tunnel in 65 minutes.
Amazingly no queue whatsoever at the toll.
Destination Reydon near Southwold 160 miles in 175 minutes.
Anybody who is familiar with the A12 beyond Woodbridge will realise how lucky I was with the traffic.

Gotta keep my eyes open for the next one and make sure I am on the list in time.
The suspense of whether I would get an e-mail from Jay nearly killed me.
I only received it 10 minutes before I left home on the Saturday otherwise I would have missed out altogether!
