Mulberry Supercar Meet

Pictures from Evans pub meet

Last Sunday PistonHeads helped supercar club P1 organise a meet at The Mulberry, a Surrey pub owned by Ferrari fan Chris Evans. The Mulberry is an odd place to hold such a meet as parking is restricted to 80 cars, but when you are talking about cars as wide as a Lamborghini Diablo then you can knock that number down to 65, especially when there is no additional public parking to use as an overflow.

The PistonHeads team arrived in style with Oli S in a 997 Turbo, Stuart in a Ferrari 599, followed by me in a 200mph armchair otherwise known as a Bentley Flying Spur. While we were in no doubt that these cars were special, I can now confirm that nothing draws a crowd faster than a pair of Veyrons and a very noisy Enzo.

Among the other metal on hand was a Porsche Carrera GT, a Ferrari F50, a smattering of 997 GT3 RSs, a handful of Lamborghini Diablos, and not one, but two Ferrari F40s. With the sun shining, we managed to fill the car park to capacity and while the event was seen as a great success, the lack of public parking and restricted numbers means it's not a venue for a traditional PistonHeads Sunday Service meets. That said I'm sure The Mulberry will be a popular venue for smaller car clubs, but PH will continue its search for the perfect venue.

Let's not take anything away from the event however, as it was an amazing day that was enjoyed by all who attended. I encourage you to sit back and enjoy these beautiful pictures and celebrate the fact that these cars are being enjoyed by enthusiastic owners. Perhaps more importantly be assured that they are all driven exactly as the manufacturers intended them to be, and that is reason enough to be cheerful
