I can understand them not wanting snotty nosed kids turning up and dragging their dirty mits all over the cars though.

The parking issue was the main stumbling point as I gather, so Joe public couldn't turn up and have a snout.

Shame, because I imagine a few of those cars only turned up because it was an invitation only job.

Beaten me to it, we were asked to bring some cars along to fill it up and it just wasn't possible to make it an open meet due to the ridiculous lack of parking at the venue. As I said in the story, that's a shame as we could have attracted 100's of spectators.

When we do this again, we'll certainly pick a larger venue.

Oh, and there is a BMW cab, and Audi TT, the aforementioned Golf Cab a Nissan and a Fiesta in there somewhere- all left behind overnight after the owners had one too many in the pub the night before.

Jealous as hell not to have been invited, but what a great turn out of real Supercars.
Lets hope that this is the start of something that can be opened up to the rest of us.
Well done Jay and whoever else clap

Looking at those photos I think i have gone a little moist

That's fair enough, but i'd take bets Garlick can now demand you drop 'em at any given moment hehe

PS Garlick you great big hunk of a man, grrr' let me get my hands on that Brad Pitt body of yours and smother you in cookies and cream.

(that's what you did right?)

Sorry for the Daily Mail type posting I was merely seeing what the response would be.
I was gonna say what 'Blue' posted but thought a bitter quote was more in keeping with this site.
......I thinks Mr Evens car was part of a 'Children In Need' prize.

Was a excellent day out a thanks for the invite, the highlight for me was the drive down (which I nearly missed as got there just as everyone was leaving) I think it'll be the only time I'll get to see 2 Veyrons in the rear view mirror for most of the journey.

Those F40's sounded amazing though and good to see them being well used too wink

Having followed one of them for 25 miles through the rolling Sussex/Surrey countryside en route, you may wish to know my stiffy has finally subsided paperbag

Actually I understand that Chris Evans' 250 GT Cal Spider is currently in bits being restored to its original colour.

All the comments about parking are spot on. As much as we'd wanted to open it up to everyone, we would've closed Sussex with the rush, and there just isn't any parking anywhere nearby. We didn't turn anyone away who came across it (including the bloke who chugged past in his Austin Seven and parked up for a bit, nonchalantly putting a wooden block in front of the wheels to stop the thing rolling into Garlick's Flying Spur eek ) but even the garage up the road was threatening to clamp anyone who parked there to wander down.

It was when 40-odd supercars turned up in convoy and closed the road that I realised how things would've been if we'd given it the full PH push.

We're pretty close to being able to announce a couple of really big meets for '09 at well known venues for all comers. Watch this space...

You selfish bas***ds...you parked me in! (Not the best venue in the world...way too small)

There I was recovering from a massive hangover staying at the Mulberry, had to be at a wedding by 1pm on the Sunday when 50 Supercars parked my mates car in! Talk about split loyalties, get to my mate's wedding on time OR spend the morning procrastinating, talking cars!

I was late to the wedding!

Funny, even though it was one of the cheapest cars there, I still would pick the the Ford GT (ok maybe the DBS, or the Shelby or the Veyron if I had to... smile

That Ford GT belongs to a mate of a mate. VERY loud.

So which was your car then? The Golf, the Quashqai or the TT?
