And no, Mungo, you cannot drive to it....

Won't be there this time mate, I'll be in the French Alpes probably paying 10 times as much for a burger

Can you drive to that one then?

Enjoy every mouthful!!

Virginia Water, near Egham. The meet is in the big National Trust car park next to the A30.

Correct, to an extent....but the car park is owned by the Crown Estate, so no freebies for NT members, I'm afraid.

You will need £4 in change to enter.

Accessible via J13 M25 or J3 M3 or J10 M4.

Ladies and Gents,

Is there anyone going to VW from 'out west' i.e. somewhere like an M4-ish latitude and west of (say) Swindon?

If so, and 'they' might be willing to transport an alloy wheel back 'home' from VW and subsequently arrange a 'local' collection?

Please contact me via my profile if so
Thanks for listening!

Chutman, both BadApple and myself were planning to go to VW, leaving from Cardiff in the morning.

I haven't spoken to him about it for a while so don't know if it's still 100% but if it is going ahead then I'll let you

I'll put a post in the S.Wales section asking if anyone else is interested

As I'm a meeting virgin (!) I thought I would come along to this one. But I can't seem to find certain bits of info:

- where is the meet - which pub?
- what time does it start?
- any costs - apart from lunch presumably?!
- should I add my name to the meeting register thingy, or is this enough. (ie, will I be allowed in if i just turn up?!)
- anyone else heading over from central london way - I'm based over in N1?

Thanks.

Ropey.

It's where the 'PH' is in the middle of this map just off the A30
You have to pay £4 into an automatic barrier on entering the car park, so make sure you have enough change in the car. People usually start to appear from about 10:30

Ah, yes I know the one. Thanks AJLintern. Used to go to Uni just up the road from there!

Just need to see if I'm going on my own now, or if the GF will be joining me. Slim chance of getting her up that early!

Any news on a convoy going from Central London/Canary Wharf?

Ropey.

I wouldn’t mind a convoy from canary wharf but if its not going ahead I’ll probably go up the A2 to the M25 and round, there will probably be a few meeting and Clacket lane, you’d be welcome to join us.

Hmmm, I'm a bit more central than that. I may just head out towards the M4 and see you down there. It'll be hard enough getting the GF out of bed to be there for 10.30 if we go direct - going via Clacket Lane will add an hour to the journey!

But I'll be sure to if I see you on the M25!

You don't have to be there for 10:30 - people turn up any time from then onwards. Most cars are probably there at about midday.
