Hi folks, advice needed please.

A few of us are heading out on a week long eurotrip on June 12th (LM weekend actually) and had planned to spend the first 3 nights camping at the 'ring.

Thing is the internet seems to be useless at providing the information we need which is:

Where is the campsite(s) and if there is a choice then which is best?
Will it be open when we want to stay?
How much does it cost and how do you pay?
Do you need to pre-book?
If you don't need to pre-book, can you turn up any time?

Sorry for all of the questions but we are driving directly from the north of England in a day so want to have arrangements in place.

Many thanks

Try this place mate. Stayed here a couple of years ago for the Rock and Ring festival. It's about 5 minute drive for the entrance, 'Kin massive place we rolled up and got a place and the area was rammed with 100000 German metal freaks so can't imagine it ever sells out.

Site was clean and nicely shaded (camping in full sun is a nightmare) Bars and st on site (karting as well i think)

I've had a search mate and it seems pretty painful to find a site near the 'Ring. How about this:

Mullenbach camp site and the official Ring camp site. Been there before and just about to go down this weekend for the 24 hour (you know, the proper one). Good large site with very good facilities - showers and wash facilties operated with typical germanic efficiency. Small shop with milk, coffee, bread, fruit etc as long as you can a)speak german or b) grunt and point (sooo british). It is a 10 minute walk up to the main entrance and is very close to the sudschleife (part of the original circuit) so you can go and get a bit of tarmac.
On most events, they even lay on a bus to ferry you up and down the hill. Details are on the nurburgring web site under accomodation - seperate link to camping. Nuff said?

Do you or anyone know if this place caters for motorhomes? Do they have hard standing pitches with electricity and water?

Also if they dont, where can you stay close to the ring with a motorhome?

Yeah I saw many motorhomes there this weekend. There's water points for sure, and I think there are electricity points, but I can't remember seeing any around and there's nothing on the map I've got.
