Whos is the BMW Z8? I envy you whoever you are, that car even manages to upstage the Ferrari California parked next to it!

A great idea, but it was a bit disappointing to arrive after a 2.5 hour drive (bloody traffic - should have been 1.5 hours) at 3.00 to an event billed from 12 - 4.30, to find about 12 cars left to actually see - where did everyone go?
Sorry you are unhappy.
My Ultima was still there at 4pm. Do bear in mind that I left home at 4am.

One owner I was talking to left home at 2.15am so I'm not surprised they headed of a little early.

Great day all round, thanks for the organisation.
Does any one know why the 288 left so early? i was devastated when i went to take a good look at it having spotted it about 20 minutes earlier in the distance and it had left already around 1.15ish!!

edit ah just seen the above post, i didnt consider that factor still it is a little disappointing when the event was sold as 12.00 - 4.00 but understandable.

Fair play to you folks,

I got up at 7am and left at 3, getting home about 6 and felt absolutely knackered

Many thanks to all who made the effort to show us their superb vehicles

The 288 was not running too well with little or no turbo boost between Gurston and Wilton House, John, the owner, decided to head off in case it let him down, on the way home he lost all electrics but just made it home, it's now on it's way to Foskers for some TLC smile

THe Car will probably be on display at the Dunton event in September thumbup

Except for this one then wink :

A good point. I shall have to check this, but I think that's an MY09 car, while VE09ETTE is an MY10.
Dear Riggers,

The VE09TTE is defo a MY09 as it was at the Corvette Nationals in June and they didn't start MY10 production at the Bowling Green factory until mid-July.

That Jetstream Blue one is up at Atlantic Sports Cars I think, so I'm not sure its actually in private hands, I think its up for sale still.

It was a great day with some gorgeous machines on display and plenty of easy access. Well done Jay, Harsh and Lord Pembroke for a memorable day and hopefully we all did some good for children who need help too!

Michal Ross of Gumball 3000 fame. He's had that plate for ages, even before the Z8 was designed I believe.

Lovely green NSX next to that red and yellow kit car.
That red and yellow kit car is a MACLAREN F1
Looks like a McLaren F1 (not a Maclaren) dressed as a Radical SR3. Similar font to the Radical 'R'.

vettheadracer is mistaken, the ZR1 Jetsream Blue ZR1 is not for sale, it is in private hands, it was supplied to an end user, a very regular customer of American Car Imports, in January 2009, it was at Atlantic Sports Cars in Luton for one of their open days and they of course took plenty of pictures of the car at their premises! But no, they have not supplied one, we have supplied the ONLY ZR1's that are on UK roads

Another PH event south of Watford gap.

Has anyone ever heard of the Lake District, or the Yorkshire Dales, or the Peak District?

Oh ..... and there's this other little country called Scotland somewhere ..... well ...... north I think.

a lot of these events are organised by PH'ers themselves, myself/Jaykaybi and a few others are a case in point and then PH are invited along.

there's nothing to stop anyone doing the same in any part of the country if you feel like taking the time out to do so?
Quite right. Try Cars in the Park for example, next taking place on 13th September just north of Leeds.

Just want to echo that really - ORIGINALLY this event was just going to be a private affair between me and some likeminded supercar owning friends, but I decided to make it public, then we (Lord Pembroke and I) decided to make it for charity, and so PH was invited to hold a Sunday Service in the grounds as well. And the day was all the better for it.
And glad you did too Jay clap it was a brilliant event thumbup

Well done to you, Lord P and all others for the hard work.
I would have loved to have gone to this but I was off for a weekend of fun packed driving in South Wales. cool

It looks like there was a great turn out and the hard work and good cause are no surprise. I was on the same course as Lord Pembroke at university. He's a thoroughly nice guy and a proper petrol head. biggrin

Hi all

This is Dave here from the Stars Appeal, the charity of which Lord Pembroke is president.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you all for your support of Supercars at Wilton House. It was a brilliant day from which we hope to have raised around £10,000-£15,000 for our Caring 4 Kids Campaign. This money will help make life better for thousands of children in hospital from Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire. If you can spare 6 minutes, please watch our short film to find out how the money will help:
http://www.starsappeal.org/caring4kids.html

Just wanted to say a few special thank yous: to Lord Pembroke for hosting the day at his beautiful home and coming up with such a fantastic idea; to the Wilton Estate staff who worked so hard in the run up to the event and on the day itself; to Jay for getting an incredible number and range of cars along (Jay, can you email me your postal address please); to all the Stars Appeal and Rotary Club volunteers; to the drivers for bringing their amazing vehicles along and, especially, to all the people who turned up and paid their hard earned cash to get in – all 6000 of you!!

Sincere thanks again for your support.

Dave from the Stars Appeal

PS. Re the comments that a few cars left a bit earlier than anticipated. We are aware of this but hope it didn’t impact upon too many people’s enjoyment. Some of the driver’s had a very long day so understandably wanted to get back home. In light of this we will be sure to make the timings on the advertising more precise if we are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to help organise a similar event next year – we would certainly love to!smile

Hope you do organize another - didn't realize people had such early starts! Maybe a complimentary overnight stay for exhibitors in Wilton House next year?! smile Thanks to all for showing their machines - still got to see some amazing machines - the Ultima WAS pretty awesome, as was the Factory Five Daytona. And most importantly, you raised a phenomenal amount for the appeal - well done!

Dear All......a million thank you’s to all those who attended and those who helped to make the day such a HUGE success!

As it was our first ever attempt at a car show there are some improvements that could be made, and hopefully if we can repeat it, will be made....namely catering. But to be honest we had no idea if we were going to get 500 or 5000 people coming. In the end we had over 6000!!!

I still keep hearing echoes of that Tuscan and the Lambo reverberating around my head and still cannot believe what an incredible job Jay did getting that unreal display of cars that even the likes of Goodwood has never seen!

Also a massive thank you to Gurston hill climb and all the marshals there who generously gave their time as well as Wilton Rotary and the Stars Appeal for the effort put in by their volunteers. Finally I would like to thank all the Wilton staff who gave up their weekend to help and to Pistonheads for the fantastic coverage.

Hopefully this can be a starting point for great things to come!
