Several years ago I was awoken by a continuous rumble of high performance cars passing by my house on Hayling Island, whilst several of my neighbours were outside shaking their fists and complaining to the local constabulary, I was jumping in my car to follow the stragglers to find out what it was all about. This was my first introduction to The PH, I wanted to know more about the club, and was given the details, joined up, and never looked back and enjoyed all the events I have been on. Great bunch of guys with no snobbery attached to the metal they own.

The most important rule of PH runs - never drive outside of your comfort zone or allow yourself to be drawn into going faster than you're comfortable with.
Many times I lost sight of the chaps ahead of me as I slowed up for 30/40 limits. These I always show respect for. It simply isn't worth having an accident or picking up points/ban just for a 'hoon'.
Always drive at a pace you're comfortable with - cars that want to go quicker will overtake you if they want to.
There may have been no Plod there this time, we did try and come down to meet with the group. Our intention wasn't to annoy anyone, or put a damper on things, however I can assure you, that if people had been giving it some through the posted limits, they would have been stopped. When there is that many cars, there is always a possibility that peoples ego's will get the better of them and they'll want to prove they can keep up with the Lambo's and Porkies. Many times I lost sight of the chaps ahead of me as I slowed up for 30/40 limits. Everyone needs to remember you are posting on a public forum, that a lot of Plod also visit as they have a love for motors too (that's why most of us are in Traffic/RPU)
Stick to the posted limits and then make progress through the nationals and you shouldn't have a problem
Maybe see you on the next one

Christ Poley - I'm staggered it didn't ruin the tyre or deflate it. That's some serious damage.
By the way, I didn't realise it was you I was talking to when we met up
I did about five miles of the hoon on that, at a pace! Then did about 80 miles at 50 MPH!By the way, I didn't realise it was you I was talking to when we met up
And you didn't give the South coast handshake either!

- I've seen worse though, steel wheel on a Peugeot 206 after an old friend tried to turn in to Edgecumbe Park Drive from Dukes Ride in Crowthrone (90degree residential street junction)
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&a...
at 45mph, the wheel was almost semi-circle shaped after hitting that kerb, the wheel was also almost in the drives foot well too. I've never been in a car with him since...
