Julian, glad to hear you were okay, that's the main thing Scary moment tho'

Thank you! Everyone thought I was in shock, as I got straight on with getting it recovered, informing ins. co. etc. Did spend 4 hours in A&E getting my back X-ray'd though - turned out fine. Hardest part will be settling with the insurance co, I'm sure. It all happened so quickly I didn't have time to do much more than yell 'st!'

hi Mel, when i first called the rac,{2:15pm} - they sent a pick up truck,,NO mechanic+ it was going to be nearly £200 to get it back up town to the garage. I said no i want a mechanic to check it so an hour+ later one came but could not fix it. So i then had to wait for pick up van,,,two hours later it was the same guy. I told RAC, i should not have to pay recovery costs,,even if it was more than 10 miles away..in the end RAC footed the bill,,so they should!!,,and the chim was dropped off at Tower view services ,,i got home approx midnight. I wouldnt have minded but the car had only just had 6,000 service + loads done when i picked up on sat!!!

Mel - I could think of alot worse places to breakdown than a pub carpark, especially when you're not driving home.

good to meet everyone,,,sorry i didnt make the pub,,
my clutch disintegrated,,,i didnt even make it out of Brighton,{DARK GREEN CHIM, BLACK WHEELS},,,finally got home after midnight fantastic!

Saw you on my way back home,... but i thought you stopped there to chat with ur wife or something!

The Chim looks good with the black wheels tho i must say!

The bus event was totally mental , (no offence for women drivers) but i thought that probably she got quite shocked with all those "angry beasts" laying around her bus door!

Can't get the link to work either.

Sounds like quite a day. RAC, casualty, write offs, crashes - someone writing 'gay' on a dirty car. I missed out big time.

Do we carry on with the mother of all threads to organise the 28th?

Hmmm ... just looked and there seems to be plenty of people on there at the moment downloading stuff - at least five different IP addresses.

You must be losing your touch, Big Al! Anyway, so that's me and...

Seriously tho', that's real nice of you to put some of us up overnight on the 27th. I just hate driving home late at night with all those nutters on the prowl
You're a star *big hug*.

Any chance of a cooked brekkie?

Phil, sweetie, you'd better save all your energies cos I have a feeling that lovely wife of yours will be making serious demands of you very soon! Are you going to go for the 4.0 / 4.5 / 5.0L Chim then?

What to call the 28th meet...

Very Soon? VERY SOON!!! Bah...

...not sure why but she said that "Let's go work on a Chim" isn't exactly the most romantic thing I've ever said to her!
