Access to the rear of the garages etc is traditionally free and easy at this event and one of the aspects that makes it so appealing in my opinion. However, does anyone know what the story is with regard to pitlane access? In 2008 a few friends and I wandered through the race control gate into the pitlane in time to see the Group C cars coming in at the end of the twilight race - does anyone know were we just lucky or is this par for the course?
Cheers.

My mate and I got on the pit lane last year, didn't think anything of it, just wandered on (obviously having experience of being in a pit lane is useful so you don't look like a muppet)Cheers.

However, there was a guy checking 'passes' and ejecting anyone without one. We were lucky is all I will say

I only got asked for a pass on the Sunday in 2008 (Fri and Sat I was just quiet and sensible), but they were a lot more diligent last year.
I'd suggest that it's one of those things that (for H&S reasons) you're not permitted to do, that they used to turn a blind eye to, but as the event gets bigger and better-known (and all sorts of numpties turn-up, not just those of us who know how to treat an active pit-lane), they'll have to start clamping down on.
Advice: If you want to chance it, then do so with care and with decency, but be prepared to be kicked back out the other side of the pits, and don't be shirty if you are. It'd be nice if it can stay, for at least a little bit longer, as something they'll ignore for brief periods...too many people and too much aggro and it'll get locked-down quicker than you can say "you can't tell me what to do!"

Like you say, I think if you know how to behave and use an active pit lane, you're not going to stick out like a sore thumb.
NOW SOLD.
Sorry didn't realise you're not supposed to advertise.
Hi,
I've now got a spare 3 day ticket for this event & an in-field parking pass for the Porsche Club GB area.
Maybe too late to send in the post but I am staying at Whittlebury Park arriving just after lunch on Friday so could meet there ?
Phil.

I'll be there, I'm going around with the medical team on Saturday.
Having seen you photo, I feel certain that I'll need urgent medical attention sometime on Saturday. I'll be on the Stratos Enthusiasts' Club stand.
Ask for me and I'll

Careful when you're around me Flasher, mate. My car has developed Toyota's "sudden unexplained surge" syndrome.
