it had a "for sale" sign on it... (noticed that Mel was the one pimping you by the way! )
Surely there must be better value available though! £14k for meat and two veg? That's nearly as much us lunch cost .

ah, £14k isnt for the equipment, its for what you can do with it.

I'm sure you don't need me to tell you what you can do with it as far as I'm concerned .

I've always found that the most expensive items do not have a price tag . Especially when it comes to jewels .

The alternative I can think of to staying in/around Brighton is going to The Seven Stars pub on the A272 near Petersfield. The drive over there from the Brighton area will be relatively straight forward and presumably easier to stay in a 'convoy'! Perhaps we could arrange various locations to meet up with others en route.

Shnozz, you've been to this pub, would you recommend it for another PH meet?

Any other suggestions are more than welcome

As walsingham rightly pointed out, the run up to the pub on Devils Dyke from Brighton is very short.

yeah, its a good place to meet - car park has no speed humps, parking is fairly plentiful, although recommended to be there for opening time on a weekend as the car park can fill up with sunday lunchers.

pub itself does nice food, plenty of room inside for both those that want to eat and those that just want to have a pint.

Its on the A272 which is just fantastic

and to top it off, craig and i found a boxster to plague down the 272 the last time we left that pub.

If that's where you keep it you must get awfully uncomfortable under heavy acceleration .

I vote for the Seven Stars, it would be good to do a different area for a change and the 272 is excellent.

you can take the 272 down to the seven stars and then if you want a post pub drive you can continue up the 272, straight across the crossroads with the A32 and up to meet the A31 before coming back whichever way suits

Roz,
Definate possible maybe for the Seven Stars.

A3->A272, or Portsdown Hill/Wickham/A32/A272
