How accurate was the trap?

Purely in the interests of PH science I am happy to find out.

Pass me the Ruf keys, a Road Angel and a day pass to Bruntingthorpe.

I will, of course, publish my results in full....

Wow... you REALLY are the World's nicest bloke... I mean who else would make such an offer..?

I have a great video of an american in his non X50 going from 175 to 190mph.

It took 20.1 seconds.

It takes us in the RUF 4.3 seconds.

I dont know how much quicker the X50 will be though.

At these speeds you really run out of road very quickly.

To coin a quote from Rick Mayall

'Oh yes, you're definitely going to see my bits — the shot lasts about four seconds.'

Adam - was the timing board constantly getting the speed wrong for all of your runs?

As when I was with you for the 209mph run, the timing board showed 188mph. Is it known that the speed traps are inaccurate at such high speeds?

We only ever used the left hand timing board- which i had heard was malfunctioning,

I think the speedo was inaccurate, I spoke to Herr RUF last night and he said that perhaps the 19inch rubber was causing some inconsistencies,

the difference between 209mph and 188 is vast. And to be honest a bit dis heartening, as it calls into question the speeds we were hitting which were imho pretty bl&*dy quick.

I'm not sure Gaz, quite possibly, it was in the afternoon on the left hand board when the problems occured (my fault!) They were only down for a short time, maybe one run or so, they are usually 100% accurate though.

At the end of the day chaps. Some huge speeds have been achieved (some of the highest ever at Brunters)and the main thing was that a fun & safe day out was had by all.

Roll on the next

Trying to beat the SEAC, interesting. I may need better gearing. 154 and 4 153's in a row at max revs. Maybe remove the spoiler mirror's ........ 160 here I come!

Interesting you used the Origin Blue as the GPS. I'm convinced mine (mk1) overreads by a significant margin (5-10%). Either that or my speedo undereads by a similar margin which seems unlikely. Its also terribly lagged.

gareth's is the mark 1. it will lag occasionally but it got backed up by the traps this time even if the display wasnt working.
