Opel GT Roadster. Despite being touted as a VX220 replacement, it stayed on the continent as this and went Stateside as the Pontiac Solstice. Crying shame IMO.

Crying shame indeed.

But there again, it means it's a very rare car over here and I like it even more for that smile

Well now the dust has settled and we all had a sleep, I figure it was time to say a BIG thanks to not only Garlick but to all the PH team for what was a fantastic morning.
All your hard work paid off and with 700 plus cars to park it was no mean task.
I really did have a great time and the fact that my timing was spot on to "blag" a GT3 "party bag" demo run really made my day!!! It even made up for the M40 Motorway "works" Mini whooping I got LOL I'll get him next time ;-)

So once again thanks from one very happy Pistonheader!!

Already looking forward to the next one.................
M40 Works Mini? What colour was it? I was driving the electric blue one!

That was awesome.
Please could somebody provide more information on this car? Thanks!
I know it belongs to this guy, and it's something stupid like one of two but that's about it

Cool. Thanks Matt.

On another note, can anybody advise me on what 'flavour' of 356 was in the experience centre please? Was it an 'A'?
It was a 'Pre A' and I think the only one in the UK

Indeed. I did some digging around my library. It's a 1300 cc pre-A (~1950-1952). Very pretty car!

Were you the chaps hammering down the M40 south into London along the A40?! 2 911's, a 360 & a Saab I remember all steaming past biggrin

If so, I was the MX5 you guys passed & then followed you lot for a little bit until I realised I missed my turning for the M25 & ended up inadvertently by Southall! hehe

Cheers yeah its fairly nippy, got nothing on yours though hehe The last 2 Sunday Services I went to I took the old Mini, but its being rebuilt at the moment so I thought I'd bring the new Mini. I realise its not a very PH car, but we made the effort and got the roof down despite it being 3 degrees on the way there haha.
