PistonHeads Welsh Weekender 2011

The first PistonHeads tour of 2011 takes us into Wales with Petrolhead Nirvana

Rush hour - Welsh style
Rush hour - Welsh style
Following on from the huge success that was the Petrolhead Nirvana/ PistonHeads Welsh tour in 2010, we're running it again in 2011, and a few minor tweaks to the route to make it even better. The tour runs from the 1st (no joke) to 3rd April and we'll be visiting Welsh landmarks such as The Black Mountains, the Evo triangle, Snowdonia National Park and the Brecon Beacons.

Smaller groups give a more enjoyable tour and, as a result, we are limiting this trip to 20 cars. To help make things go smoothly you will have a dedicated tour manager, sat-nav files and licensed walkie talkies (no, they don't serve alcohol).

On Friday evening, we'll be meeting in the bar of our spa hotel based in Llandrindod Wells in the heart of Wales, where we will stay for two nights, meaning you can settle in and make a base for your stay.

Saturday 2nd April – 270 Miles

On Saturday morning you'll enjoy a leisurely breakfast before choosing one of two options:

For the drivers, we'll be assembling in the car park for a briefing before heading north towards the Snowdonia National Park. We'll visit Snowdon, Lake Bala, Betws-Y-Coed and the (in)famous “Evo Triangle” before returning back to the hotel for dinner and drinks.

Take it to the bridge.....
Take it to the bridge.....
The second option is to stay at the hotel to enjoy the hotel facilities which include:

– 18m heated swimming pool
– Spa, sauna and steam room
– Gym, with individual TVs and sound systems
– A selection of holistic treatments (available at additional cost)

Sunday 3rd April – 130 Miles

On Sunday morning, we'll head south to the Brecon Beacons National Park to seek out some some fantastic roads which will, of course, include the famous Black Mountain Road and will end at one of our favourite pubs for a 'hot rock' lunch.

  • The Package:
£249 per person based on two people sharing, but if you book and pay before Christmas 2010, you will receive a 10% discount, bringing the cost down to just £224 per person.
  • Included in the price:
    The Triangle
    The Triangle
2 Tour managers with lead and chase cars

2 nights spa hotel accommodation (with dinner included on the second night)

Sat Nav Files, walkie talkies, info packs with route notes, maps and general info.
  • What's not included:
Dinner on night one, drinks, fuel, tolls

    Spa treatments

    Lunches.

Breakdown cover (for your own peace of mind we make this a requirement on all tours)

This is a trip that includes all the fun roads in the Welsh region, a great hotel and the best bit is you get to drive alongside fellow PHers! We look forward to seeing you there.

For more information and to book, call the Petrolhead Nirvana team on 0845 838 7363 or use the contact form here.

Just looking at the website to book this, but it has different dates 8 - 10 April 2011. Is that a different tour?

Impressive - 3 takers already and thats on a paid tour! Have a look in the North Wales section and you will see that NOBODY can ever muster up enough troops to arrange a free hoon round some of our great roads!

Theres not much point in me putting my name down, as i only live 20mins from the evo and most of the roads anyway, but, i have to say, the price is pretty decent considering its a weekend away.

Nicely arranged Garlick

What sort of driving pace is there please? I like to 'push on' a bit you see, and would hate to go on a sight seeing tour smile

Thanks,

Nick
