New Year's Day Meet - The Phoenix, Hartley Wintney
Discussion
The 599 (whilst an amazing car,) was ruined by the silver bits for me. All in black, it would have been stunning!
Loved some of the old school hot-rods and rat-rods too.
Thought this was rather nice too.

Really nice start to the new year with a nice mix of cars.
What was the engine in the E-type? It sounded like a 6 to me rather than the XKR lump and I did not get a peek under the bonnet (I have an XKR lump) The wheel choice was horrific but with the brembo package there needs to be the clearance to the calipers so you cannot fit, say, 18” double 5s.
I think I will defiantly attend next year. The added benefit was that I did not get steaming drunk NYE. I will take my own coffee though

I couldn't work out if it was a normal one or some special edition, 599 TC was new to me? Car looked ok, typical owner, Ferrari boots and top He's got a website with pictures and videos showing the build http://www.patsetypes.co.uk/index.html

Well each to their own of course but to me it looks like a Whacky Racers comedy car
If anyone's thinking of going next year make sure your wheels pass the Pistonheads taste police test! I quite like the Jag pick-up thing - made me smile!

No way! the modern wheels tie in perfectly with the engine and interior. Imo its perfection as it is i would love to see some detailed pics if you could persuade him to join the forum.
Well each to their own of course but to me it looks like a Whacky Racers comedy car The thing is that it was not "a glorious E type" when he started. It was a rusty, rough 2+2 that probably would have been broken for spares if he had not bought it. Wheels are a personal choice. We've all probably seen some cars and thought the wheels don't look right but presumably the owner likes them.
