The 2011 Chatsworth TVR Gathering
This is on May 8th, which will make this the sixth TVR Chatsworth Gathering.
This year on the Sunday I have again negotiated the area in front of Chatsworth House.
As was last year, we have our own dedicated TVR entrance and parking area. Parking will be from no earlier than 9.30am and the cost will be £5 per TVR for the on the gate tickets (please try to have exact money to cut down waiting time) there will be no advanced tickets or bookings, just turn up on the day. Optional tours of the House and gardens will be at the group discounted price with up to 3 guest on the production of a current TVRCC membership card on the Saturday and Sunday (No Gathering on the Saturday). Chatsworth would also like to offer a discount in their Retail outlets for TVRCC members on the 8th May only (on production of a current TVRCC membership card), the discount is 10% when spending £25 or more in the Orangery Shop, Carriage House Shop, Garden Shop and Interiors Shop (all House/Stable yard based) and the Farm Shop (at Pilsley, 1.5 miles away). As you know, the Farm Shop in particular is well worth a visit. The discount will be granted on production of a TVRCC membership card on purchases over £25 and on the 8th May only.
Everyone is welcome whether a member of the TVRCC or a Pistonheader, none TVR cars are to park in the public car park approx 100yds from the TVR only parking area, everyone is welcome to bring a picnic in this area but Chatsworth rules denote NO BBQ’s or Gazebo’s and dogs are to be kept on leads at all times and NO Trailers will be allowed.
Chatsworth have shops that sell food, and their pasties and ice creams are now legendary, there will also be both a Pasty van and drinks sales on site, Toilets are very near by too.
The TVRCC stand will also be on site selling TVRCC regalia and you can also join the TVRCC on the day to get your discounts for Chatsworth.
The Chatsworth web site is www.chatsworth.org where info on the house and surroundings can found and places where to stop over night if required and also how to get there and what there is to do for all the family.
There is a campsite not far from Chatsworth called Packhorse Farm if people wish to camp near by. It’s at Tansley nr Matlock and more details can be found on there web site http://www.packhorsefarm.co.uk/ one of our TVR owners has been and says it is TVR friendly, (places limited and places to be booked via the camp site)
There will also be a run on Saturday May 7th from the Chatsworth Carlton Lees car park organised by Tony Cottrell from the East Midlands region.
Also on the Saturday May 7th there will again be an open day/ rolling road day at Raceproved in Sheffield. If you wish to book a session on the rolling road then please contact Raceproved on 0114 2692027 http://www.raceproved.com/
There is now a dedicated Chatsworth Gathering web site, http://chatsworthtvr.co.uk/ thanks to Tony Cottrell (East Midlands RO) webmaster@tvrcc-eastmidlands.co.uk
For any other information just contact me, Kev Dunnington at ro@tvrcc-south-yorks.co.uk or Skype, kevind63
Please keep speeds down in the Chatsworth grounds and watch out for the sheep (they are a bit daft) the Deer are a lot more sensible, they keep away from the road.

All persons and cars attending this event do so at their own risk and the organiser accepts no responsibility for any damage to any cars or persons attending the event.

I absolutely must make it to this. I presume parking for non-TVRs is still on the grounds, that seems to be the jist I'm getting from the write up?

Yes, none TVR parking is only about a 100yds away from the TVR area, it's just not as scenic as the TVR area is.

If you don't get a TVR for the day there are always a few with for sale signs in their window. Good luck with your search.

I've just had confirmation that I have got the weekend off. Planning on coming up on the Friday for the full weekend.

I'll be on my own this year as Mrs MoJo can't make it. I was looking at places to stay and notice last year there were quite a few staying at The Manor in Dronfield. Anyone staying there this year ? If so I'll book up so I've got some company smile

Was planning to come down in the Tuscan.

Took the wife out over the weekend, for the very first time, and she hates it!

Ooops....

I know of three up to now that have booked in to the Manor, also a few local TVR owners will be poping in one night to have a chat and the odd drink.

Very well Kev, Haven't been able to make a monthly meet in ages.

I'm a Grandad now, so might have a new copilot for Chatsworth 2012....

Should non-TVR attendees use the dedicated TVR entrance or the normal public entrance?

Geoff.

As you come in toward the house you would go straight on and pay at the wooden pay hut (none TVRs), the TVRs turn off a few yards before to the right (sign posted) and park up in front of the house.
Everyone is welcome to come, it's just the parking that is separated.

It is now confirmed that along with the TVRCC attending Chatsworth, the Dunlop TVR European Challenge crew will be at Chatsworth. Pop in for a chat and see what the racing is all about, you can also have a chat to some of the drivers too, any question about the racing, ask these guys.

Don't forget that tours of the house and gardens are at a discounted price for TVRCC members on the Saturday and Sunday 7th-8th May.

Fancy putting your car on the rolling road at Raceproved in Sheffield? give them a ring and book your slot 0114 269 2027
Everyone welcome as they are having an open day, food and drinks are avalible, great turnout of TVRs there last year.

Details of the Derbyshire run on the Saturday will be out soon see www.chatsworthtvr.co.uk

Any questions then PM me or email ro@tvrcc-south-yorks.co.uk

Just in case anyones looking for somewhere to stay - I spoke with a friend who has converted barns on his farm just south of Chatsworth.

http://www.sycamorefarm.co.uk/

nice area - it has the very best roads around the Chatsworth area in my opinion.

Just say Gary sent you and I am sure you can negotiate short stays, best price etc.... Might be particularly good if there is a bunch of people travelling up together but I am sure its good for smaller parties too.

Can we have a sticky for this event please.
hopefully it will be as HUGE as the last 2 years.

I've booked the sun (well I'm keeping my fingers crossed)

I am looking forward to being there all day this year.
I will be the woman in a yellow jacket directing you towards the different model parking places so please dont shout at me smile
so I would ask you park where indicated by the marshalls, dont block the aisles left for access between the models oh and have a great day out

If they are they won't be having a stall, I can only have the TVRCC stall at Chatsworth. Companies do come with leaflets and can advise on what they have but but I'm affraid that's all. You will probably see the companies flags to let you know if they are there.
