I've recently stripped my H22A7 Accord Type R down and found it's thrown a piston and scored the cylinder bore beyond economic repair. None of the bearings have been damaged and the crank is intact. Any ideas what may have caused it?

I'm looking for a replacement if anyone has one at a sensible price or know someone that breaks Honda's at a reasonable price.

Thanks for any help.

Not without an accurate description, history and pictures - 'thrown a rod' isn't very specific.

Try vtec direct, Andy there supplies just about anything you could want for the ATR and has complete engines too.

Or keep an eye on the classifieds on accordr.org

Thanks guys! Drawing nothing but dead ends at the mo and have a very small budget so a rebuild is now out of the question. Nearly got one off of ebay until the guy tripped himself up and offered me a pile of st instead of the one advertised. Time to do some googling on your recommendations.
