Pug 306 handbrake cable snapped

The garage have quoted 125 quid to replace the cable - reasonable? They suggest its a two hour job?

Depends which cable but 2 hours more like an hour job 15-20 quid for the part 1hr labour normaly 40 quid even if it was 2hrs then you would have change out of 100 quid.

Done a few on our own 306s (one snapped & others corroded)& an hour is about right.

£40 an hour labour? I'd be surprised to find any charging under £60!

Unfortunatley this is true ! may be a small indy but bigger places labour cost are horrific N.B. it is not reflected in wage rates , glad I'm out of it .

Cheers, its my sons car going through its MOT, 125 quid quote for the cable replacement job. He has had the work done now as he needed his car. Avoid garage in future it seems, greedy barstewards.

Come to south wales valleys most of the indy garages charge £40 an hour and the garage i work at. There some at £30 an hour but that is in caerphilly so hardly surprising. I suposse garages in major towns or city do charge more though.
