Isnt the punto or colt a conventional auto?
The yaris is a bit out of my budget.

I would say yes they are.

The fancy auto shifted manual boxes tend to be more expensive.

Not all automated manuals are DSG like. The VW Audi one has two clutches etc. Some, Saab, Honda Peugeot and such like have one clutch operated automatically and can be quite jerky in the change and take a bit of getting used to. Punto is Dualogic robotised semi auto, not torque converter.
