Is this normal? It is on a 2000 Fiat Seicento Sporting.

It appears that there should be some sort of cover screwed on, but it isnt there. The (what I believe to be the flywheel) is open to the elements and the unit is dripping with oil. Is this normal or should I go to a garage to have it fixed?

Should be a tin cover not really critical but better to have one! the oil leak most likely rear main oil seal would need the gearbox and flywheel removing to access it so a big job
If the leak is small (an odd drip) don't worry smilesmile

Thanks for that. The oil leak is small however during its last MOT, the source could not be found. The MOT is due in October and the leak was put down as a minor on the MOT. So I think I can manage with just topping up the oil every few months.
I have been looking into finding a cover so will be heading to the local scrapheap where I have seen a model of my car.

A thin sheet of steel, aluminium, even maybe plastic could be used to make a new shield
