Hi Folks

We took a TR7 fitted with a Dolly Sprint engine on it's first track day last weekend and had great fun with the car apart from a fuelling problem.

When exiting hard right handers the car would loose power for a few seconds then pick up again. Our thinking is fuel starvation to the carbs. It's running the standard twin SU's on a blueprinted engine putting out about 130bhp.

What's the recommended solution to this? Uprated fuel pump? Also heard something about using Cooper S float chambers?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

James

Try it with a full tank.

If that cures it, you need a surge tank. If not, look at the floats.

If it only happens when cornering, I can't see it being a simple pump issue.

On an old car like that, I'd be looking for contamination or water in the fuel tank first.

Yep twin hf6 carbs, tank was approximately half full on the track day. Never had any probs on the road regardless of how full the tank is although driving on the road has never been as spirited!
